To the guy on the Black Hyosung GT250R that jumped the Pavement on Mt Eden Rd in front of the butchery in the Mt Eden village at around 5:40pm today.

WTF !!!

There was a parked car and guy in a BMW that had tried to squeeze through the gap but ended up blocking the left lane.
You can't just jump the pavement to go around, not in the middle of a rather busy shopping area.

I was on the GN waiting behind the guy blocking the lane and at the next set of lights I was only two cars behind you.
You can't tell me that getting two cars ahead justifies riding down the pavement.
The guys in the butchers shop were stunned and gave me a filthy look just because I happened to be on a bike.

I've been on the pavement to go round an obstacle once or twice but never in such a busy area and never for such a trivial holdup as a parked car.

I hope you or someone that knows you reads this because this kind of thing tarnishes the reputation of all bikers.

What's wrong with riding on the footpath, anyway? If there's people there, they shouldn't -- motorcycles have right-of-way on the footpath. It's in the road-code. Or it should be.

Making your bike backfire as you ride past 10cm from café tables makes the JAFAs jump and spill their soy lattés. Keeps you amused on boring commutes. If there's a grass strip between the path and the road and it's been raining, extra points if you spin the rear wheel and flick mud on the old lady behind you.

Posting his rego? WTF is this site? SNAPT?

And posting people's rego on here is a low stunt to pull.

posting people's rego on here is a low stunt to pull.

Er, I did it yesterday.

But I wasn't being a prat about it. Well, not much, anyway. Only a little bit. And the culprit in that thread nearly took me out with his maneuvering, rather than simply breaking an arbitary Non-Pavement-Jumping Biker Code.

I'm still feeling a little guilty, now, though. Thanks a bunch.

But, anyway, yes. Shoot and burn the evil baby-raping pavement-jumping motherfucker. What is the world coming to, eh?

I used to spend probably 60% of my working hours riding around up to 40kph on footpaths when I was delivering mail on a CT110... If the guy knew what he was doing, and didn't cause too much of an issue, let it slide...

One word: Karma... if he really deserves something bad for riding how he chooses, something bad will happen... you are not karma's fist, trigger finger, or lynch mob.

Is it just me or has there been an influx of new Police Officers on this forum. It seems as though they're all posting up peoples plates and complaining of any iddy biddy little offenses.

What is not mentioned in these types of threads seems to be the time and place. I'm sure if we saw the situation that these offenses were committed in we might have a different angle. In no way am I condoning what their actions might be, but its very easy to just point the finger.

I guess I'm just saying these "Reporting" threads are getting a little tedious.

I say who cares 'bout the rego, if you thought it was worth posting it then it probably was! Heaps of people in here are saying how it's fine etc especially if he was under control and crap. Isn't this a bit contradictory to the flaming going to the guy who ran from the cops, giving bikers a bad name? Oh, na, if he was running from the cops and in control and knew what he was doing that's all good...right?

When peds see bikers coming at them on the footpath surely that heightens peoples angst towards us...

Just my input. :2thumbsup

You're right to post about it, Mt Eden shops isn't the brightest place to ride on the footpath and if I had seen that I probably would have had a quiet word to the bag rider.

Just don't post the rego.

Can we lynch the Hyobag rider now? I've sharpened the pitchfork and got the burning faggots ready. :bleh:

There are two places I will use the footpath if there is a holdup. It probably isn't doing much for the reputation of motorcyclists, but it gets me where I'm going.

There have been some recent modifications to improve traffic flow in town here. (This is at Mangorei/Northgate for the locals.)
So of course now the traffic is backed up miles and I use the cycle lane in the morning. Passing another hundred or so cars up the inside probably doesn't do much for the reputation of motorcyclists either.

Guys, there has been some sunshine lately, the serotonin should be cutting in about now.

Cheer up ffs!

I see no problem having the guys Rego posted (although I find reporting threads a little boring).

There are other threads where 'naming and shaming' as been activly encouraged - so why not when you see something particularly stupid.

Oh - and to the original poster - if you post comments about running from the police (also a stupid action) - it kind removes your credibility about posting comments about one type of biker giving another a bad name :Oi:

Yip - and if someone saw me and posted my rego and told me not to ride like a tosser I'd say fair enough because I was riding like a dick.

However - in 15 years of driving I've had one ticket (from a fixed camera for 62 in a 50 zone) and been stopped twice by the police.

The first time the officer said it looked like I was going too fast (I was but not by much) but they didn't have a radar. I think they were bored since It was the middle of nowhere.

The second time by an officer by the side of the road, again no proof and at the time I wasn't going more than 60.

Good on ya Max. Outstanding.

There once was a little girl named Little Red Riding Hood. One day her mum sent her off on her Hyosung to Grandma’s house with a picnic basket because Grandma was sick. She got firm instructions not to leave the road to ride on the footpath and go straight to Grandma’s house because of the Big Bad Wolf.

Halfway to Grandma’s house she saw the prettiest flowers decided to ride off the road and onto the footpath to go and pick them.

Just as she bent down to grab them she saw the Big Bad Wolf behind the bush. His eyes were as big as basketball balls. She said:’ Wolf, why are your eyes so big?’ The Big Bad Wolf said: ’ Get the fuck away, can’t you see I’m taking a shit!!’

What I was getting at was the hypocrisy on the board where someone who has been here 'ages' can write something and nobody has any issue with it.

Then a 'noob' (like me, or the original poster) writes something almost exactly the same and people jump the fuck over him.

Thats why the post count comment was used in context of the argument.

Why I quoted you was because you were simply jumping on a bash up bandwagon to the original poster and offering nothing of value.
