Hey all,
After looking through Bikepics.com Ive come to the conclusion - the CBR250rr is the best looking 250cc out there. If I had the coin I would import one thats in 100% perfect condition with next to no KM's.
What 250cc would you buy if you had the coin?

If you had all the coin in the world for a 250 you should just bribe your way into a full licence and get a Ducati 848 or MV F4.

Ahh but that wasnt the question...if you were new to the biking world...needed to buy a biker, your first bike, what would you buy. Your rich and ignorant to the biking world. You havent been wavered by people saying, Hondas suck, Hyo's break down etc etc.
What would you buy.. :)

All the money in the world eh?

If i was that rich and wanted to be ridiculous I'd make a bike the same size as a modern 600cc (R6 lookalike but with top shelf suspension etc) then build/buy a jet turbine with a 250cc rating and bolt that in, I have no idea if you can classify a jet engine by volume, the combustion chamber is large, but there is no physical displacement just forced movement, so I suppose you would then have a frickin quick 0cc bike ;)
or am I being toooo ignorant?

Rich and ignorant to the biking world and flying to the US to bypass the 250cc restriction isn't an option... +only buying on looks...
RS250 or ZXR250 (C model is better looking than the CBR250RR). Maybe Hyosung GTR250.
If Ducatti made a 250 it'd be that regardless of how it looks. To the bike ignorant Ducatti is the only thing they know and they know it's "cool".

Interesting, the custom made bike sounds real cool. NSR250 would be up there also, the swip card model. TZR250 would also be awesome, they are awesome to look at too. Amit - I knew you would go for a RGV150...you love those things eh?

RG150 not RGV150 :girlfight:
RGV150 is aircooled, RG150 is watercooled and goes way harder apparently. I used to own one, and by god did it go. Every 250 I test rode felt slow after that :p

Honda RS250 with shit load of pingas thrown at it to make road legal. Custom frame blah blah if need be.

they are the apocolypse of evil....
that and i'm too much of a sissy to keep it in the powerband.

If the two strokes were reliable and efficient and didn't sound like lawnmower's I'd choose a new RS250 Aprilia.
A really cool bike would be the Aprilia RS125 with a 450 single motorcross engine if it would fit... I know they've done it on the GP125 bikes.
But in reality for reliability, fun, rideability, and the fact that it turns like a GP racer despite it's soft unadjustable suspension, and general looks. The bike that I'll be racing this weekend is my favourite bike... The mc22 CBR250RR. I've managed 1.15.1 around Puke on mine on my first ever race day. And comfortable under 2 minutes around the taupo long circuit. Kick arse bikes. I'm tossing up whether to sell my 2004 CBR600RR or my 1990 CBR250RR and I think I'll be keeping the latter.
And for the record, the Honda haters on this site are mostly taking the piss or they're just jealous about the perfection that only Honda's achieve, and the most common complaint is that they lack "character" or in other words they are missing the idiosynchrosies that other brands generally have. They often have a lot less faults but are often not quite a stressed.

Another bike I would consider would be a DR250, they are go any where bikes really. On the beach one day, up in the bush trails the next then ride it to work on Monday...it would be awesome to see the off road side of riding a motorcycle.

I've already got it! Although I'd also like a dry clutch RGV250T VJ23 in factory Lucky Strike, and an MC28 NSR250 in factory Rothmans.

Pretty much that, but insted of the RS250 engine, I would use a VTR250 engine, just because I love 4stroke V-twins! :niceone:
And a Kawasaki KLE250, dual-sport version of the GPX250.

I'd be out there kicking all your arses on a motarded-up YZ250.
Around the outside.
Sideways.

c models suck ...a models nicer to ride by a long shot.
Could you explain why? What was it about the A model that you felt was better?
As far as I remember on paper they're almost the same bike bar the nicer fairings on the C and maybe more adjustment on the suspension. Oh and usually lower km's because they're newer.

YZ motard'd up would ROCK...never thought about that. Could you put on of them on the road if you slapped lights and all that on it. **Looks up to the right, dreams about riding YZ motard**

With all the money in the world I would buy a Honda RC166. A 7-speed 250cc inline-6 producing 60bhp at 18000 rpm and weighing in at 112kg.

Well if you're more concerned about looks and aren't worried about waiting till you can have a more powerful bike, I suggest getting a GN250 and some '04 ZX10R fairings :niceone:

Aprillia RS250 with about 15k worth of work done to it.
Having ridden one for 2 weeks they are hell of a fun. With a few mods I have in mind it would be a frikken weapon.
Oh and the zxr250a cause it was my second bike and still one of my top rated.
