View Full Version : Caged KBers - would you display this sticker?

90s
15th November 2007, 13:42
I was thinking about xerxesdaphats mishap in mistaking caged friendly KBers for the fuzz, and it reminded me of recent threads in which KBers lanesplitting wondered if 'good' cages moving over etc were driven by caged kiwibikers.

So I wondered how many of you would put this sticker on your cage to indicate your TRUE nature. You could then join in the kiwibiker wave and head nodding fun with your biker pals.

And of course it would help create a bitchfest on here about KBers who "should know better" when cutting up bikes, even though it is likely to be the KBers missues/clueless husband/teenage spod in the car. What fun!

So obviously I am no photoshop wizz, but if some expert on here could create a decent round sticker cutout along the concept would there be any takers?

I'd buy and display one!

Hehehe! That would save hair-trigger paranoid police runners like me a bit of hassle.

I like it a lot. More room on cages for stickers, too; took me ages to work out where to stick my KB sticker on my bike until I gave up and stuck it on my helmet.

Yeah those bigger geeks can be a bit scary, though I don't think I've even been stalked by one. (not counting myself of course)

Anyway whats wrong with the puttingt KB sticker on your car, Isn't it obvious that you're a caged biker if you put the sticker on it?

Honest opinion time, I used to tell other bikers about this place, but since things got a bit too PC, and whingy, and I stopped taking it even remotely seriously, it is almost a source of embarasment. To think that I would be lumped in with the emos, activists, and general hypocracy is more than my ego could endure.

I'm with Drew on this.

Any KBer will recognise the logo; it's not necessary to spell it out.

And 'Caged Biker' is just generally something I'd put on my car.

Print the stickers up, and the orders will come.

NIce work Nighthawk. If someone want to actually make the stickers that would be cool.
I would favour a round sticker rather than a square - any thoughts?

The concensus seemed to be against KBer and just for 'Biker' - the logo being recognisable to the KBers anyway. Go with that?

I wouldn't mind some leerance from SpankMe - or from anyone.

But as stated I'm not producing these. If anyone wanted to then they would have to get clearance. What we are putting up here are concepts. The "go with that" refers only to a prototyping exercise. Any actual production would have to go an OK this with the originator of that great logo.
Having said that I know KB is rife with pirates - FACT!

Going to agree with jrandom and Drew... I'd stick one on that said Caged Biker rather than Caged KBer. Could in fact modify the standard KB sticker - add the text Caged Biker above the logo, with the website URL still below the emblem. Or replace the URL with the Caged Biker text...

I would go with caged biker. It's only after you've been here that you even know what "caged KBer" means. If one of the purposes is to bring new people to the site, then "Caged Biker" makes a lot more sense.

Yeah all good if that's what folks want. I just like keeping things simple. And.....my way of thinking is that if I have a KB sticker on the back of my cage then it follows that I am a caged biker.

What does the label look like with a thinner circle? The first thing that came to mind was the circle is the feature..is that the intended effect?

What about "Caged" and "biker" in the same colour format as "Kiwi" and "biker"

It needs approval....Wonder what the Master thinks?? :)

Already been done.

A sticker that says in txt "biker friendly" is about the same as if John Britten had said "Oh someone has already made a 50cc moped ... why bother with another motorbike - they're all the same".

Now that "bike friendly" sticker is crap-ugly. And the purpose is a little different to this one's (whatever it is). But if thousands of people have bought it then this should sell about 1.9 million copies.

Hmmm... interesting thought... would the sticker need to be sticky on the back so it would go on the outside of the car or sticky on the front so it would go on the inside of the window?

I would personally choose sticky on the back because then you could put it on the bumper, window or anywhere. Personally I don't put stickers on the inside of my back window because when I eventually removed it, I would risk damaging the rear window demister. But that's just me.

OK, now we need another poll!

Not sticky at all - just that clingy clear film type stuff they use for stickers destined for the insides of windows. No idea how they make those stickers stick, but they come off totally clean cos there's no adhesive involved.

(wow, that really makes it sound like I have a great grip on the physics of the world around me, doesn't it?!)

OK - this is wrong for a number of reasons - but I hope that this will help.

1. Don't type in caps - its called yelling AND IS REALLY FUCKEN ANNOYING as well as being hard to read.

2. Its a TV show - you don't actually have to do anything to "deserve" or earn the right for a bumper sticker. There is no test. The 10+ episode threshold is an urban myth made up by geeks who argue "who was the best captain ever?"

3. Trailerparkboys is owned by Topsail productions - Reno 911 is Comedy Central - so its impossible tor TPBs to own Reno 911 :bleh:

Selling bumper stickers on the net that read "Biker Friendly", seemed like a good idea to me. Just add the KB logo. It achieves little except that hopefully when he as the sticker he will:

A) Indicate before changing lanes,
B) Not run red lights,
C) Let you in,
D) Be aware that you are behind him,
E) Not try to run you off the road in a mindless road-rage fury,
F) Give way to you when required,
G) Move to the left to let you and your mates through on the twisties,
H) Not tailgate you,
I) Not undertake you in a merging traffic lane...(The F*%^#g C*n+s)
J) Not pull a u-turn in front of you, and if he does he will indicate so that you have a 50-50 chance of avoiding him,.
K) Will have his headlights on in low visibility conditions, i.e. dusk, rain, mist...,
L) Won't flick his cigarette butt out the window at you.

Any more??
