The coro is not that bad just did the full loop last wednesday... yes there are gravel patches (2 I think) and not at all long ones... marked with roadworks / new road layout/ new seal signs... ask and you shall recieve!

As of yesterday there has been another 8km section laid with more to come, the gravel is still thick on the road in far too many places. I talk to the roading guys daily when they come for there pies etc. so the info is hot off the press. And i live here!.

I used to do this ride a lot back when the top half had gravel road but always went anti clockwise (just got another road bike after 10 year break) - so question - Is anti clockwise still the best way round ?

But of course.
And then turn around at Coromandel town and go back home the way you came.

That's the only thing that could make the coro loop more interesting I reckon. Make the whole lot gravel!!!
