Before you read my review, check out his new range of gear at the <a href="http://www.quasimoto.co.nz/">QUASiMOTO</a> website.

<hr/>

My QuasiMoto jackets came in the mail today, ripped into the package a month or so early, "To Romeo - from Quasi".

Before I came across Quasi's "<a href="http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=60658">Can't Afford Gear</a>?" thread, I was planning to buy either a cheap ("exploding") buffalo hide jacket off TradeMe, a rooted old used one or a super expensive italian made one when I got the cash. So it was perfect timing on his part.

Now, I don't know a lot about leather jackets, but these jackets are definitely equal, if not better, than anything I've tried on in the shops - and I've tried on a lot of jackets! (I can't afford a bike yet, so I go around pretending ;[).

<legend>Firstly, the beaut little red and grey number...</legend>What can I say, I freckin' love this jacket! The design is mint, it's got armour throughout and it feels absolutely bomb-proof! It's a heavy piece and once it's on it's like a second skin - haven't tested it on the road for obvious reasons yet.
It's got removable armor all round (Genuine CE armor, not that generic stuff you find in cheap gear), high quality zips, an inside pocket, back hump and mesh like stuff on the underarms for ventilation. Ontop of all that it'll zip together into a 1-piece. This will definitely last a long time, just have to make sure I don't get too fat ;D.

I bet he's kicking himself that he offered it at such a low price - because I would have paid a hell of a lot more for it. What a bloody legend!! I've tried on $700 jackets that didn't even come close to being this awesome. EDIT: Quasi's just told me that this was a one off custom made for a customer who didn't want it, who the hell wouldn't want this beauty!

<legend>Next, Quasi's pre-owned Speedster</legend>Another brilliant jacket. A few little quirks taking into account it's second hand, but still an amazing jacket considering it's probably a few years old. The leather is still supple and it looks bloody good! The old man has snaffled it, "I need a different jacket to wear when I'm riding the Z1" - good enough for me :].

Another case of Quasi's generosity, we landed both these jackets for $125! This was a one off deal though, a total value of easily over $800, so don't go asking for discounts ;P. I'm going to have to buy some pants and gloves when I get a bike to make up for the serious karma imbalance I think ;s.

A big thanks to Mr and Mrs Quasi!

Cheers,
Romeo and ToyCollector10.

Great score there Romeo

I took a trip down to hamilton last sunday to pick up my pants and I love them, so going to try them out this weekend,

Also i saved a shit load on them, only paid just over a 1/4 of the price on the invoice so was very very happy with that.

big ups to QuasiMoto

No arguements from this kiwi either, his range of (seconds)jackets was amazing, and great value, nothing wrong on the outside, just tear in liner. Then grabbed a pair of pants which were used, leather brilliant,no marks and supple as,saved enough to buy a couple of beers this month, great value as stated, and bloody fine gear as per usual, great to know there are people around willing to sell surplus gear at good prices for newbies.

As if we needed any more evidence of what a great guy Quasi is - He could have listed all of this stuff up on TradeMe and made an absolute killing. <acronym title="Not that I'd sell it, I love it to bits! It's my first!">The custom jacket I got has to be worth $300->$400 on TradeMe easy</acronym>, what a bloody legend!

I'm reading this as "I'm going to deliberately bin"...
I hope not, but at least you are wearing the right gear!
