OK, here's a nice poll. Which one of the following six Italian Naked Bikes do think is the ugliest. All are confirmed to be going into production and available at dealerships/distributors by at least the 1st quarter of next year. Some, like the Shiver 750 are already here. (sat on one today)

You could end up "swimmin with da fishes" saying things like this.

Would'nt go as far as to say any of them were ugly, the Benelli is getting close though. It stikes me as some of them are trying too hard...

Were they all designed by the same guy?

The new Monster is the ugliest, with the Benelli a close second.
My favorite is the Corsaro, then Brutale, and the Shiver looks pretty cool, haven't seen one in the flesh yet and bikes always look different when right in front of you.

Where is the option for none of them, I like this style.

+1
I like all of them for what the Euro's call "Technical" styling.
The lack of fairings to hide the functional components means they have to put some thought into the form as well as function, like the rear subframe on the Monster thats a lovely piece of metal work exposed and serving an important function.
That swingarm on the Bimota is so intricate. And I could go on all day about the rest.
Whats not to like?

They all look like they've run into the back of a truck.:apint:

It's called a short wheelbase:jerry:

It's called a short wheelbase:jerry:Running into a truck does that.

Nah, it's more the overall squished looking design than wheel base I think. The 2/3 shots/impressions makes the wheel base look shorter than it actually is. Typical marketing ploy.

Priobably fine bikes but the design just doesn't appeal to me.

The Benelli's the only one that I think is ugly. I love the Corsaro and the Brutale goes without saying. I don't think the Monster looks as good as they used to.

Don't know how you could find the TNT ugly, which is the Corsaro the 900 or the 1200

I'd be happy with either one of them in my garage.

The Corsaro is the 1200 and is HORN!
Theres also the Corsaro Veloce with Termigonis on it, looks great all in black with an awesome sound.

Good to see no Moto Guzzi's mentioned in the poll.

The Ducati and the MV are magnificent!

Benelli on the other hand.............is it the same company that makes firearms?

What?

Probably, and he probably works for Micro$oft...

And....what he said! :Punk:

Sure, the designs are a little outlandish, and they may not please everyone, but they're still awesome pieces of fine machinery...

...and they'll keep you mechanical skills up "to date" as well. ;)

Generally I think they're nice looking bikes, but the yellow horror AKA the Benelli doesn't appeal to me at all!

I'd have to have mechanical skills to start with... ...mummy, mummy...what's a spark plug? :baby: just kidding btw...:p)

Bottom line is though: beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

A couple of times, I found that I wouldn't like the design on celluloid, but then once I saw the bike "in the flesh", it started to grow on me...:msn-wink:

They are all mighty similer, as said before. But I would be hard pressed to be saying any of them are ugly. Though I would say that the Duck and the Moto Morini to be the choice for looking the best of the group.:niceone:

carver
19th November 2007, 20:31
i like the shiver, the tnt, and the moto morini!

the others..well
the brutale style light just wrecks it.
like the cars that tried the bug eye look

Bren
19th November 2007, 21:48
The TNT does me....mean looking muthafucca...sad to say that Cagiva have not been mentioned...is that because they are half-casts(Jap powerplant)????
Anyway I am sort of turning my appreciation towards the raptor, and would love to give them a squirt down the motorway...

I could only post 6 pictures, so I picked similar designs, the exception being the Benelli. It's true though, a picture is nothing like the real bike. The Shiver 750 is beautiful in real life.

Maybe I should post the Jap/korean equivilants to see the comparisons. You know what, I think I will to be fair. I may have to include some current models though.

wretch, vomit, chunder, spew Theyre all trying way too hard!! but then I still live in the last century & much prefer the look of REAL Classic 70's Italians like the SFC750,900SS,Lemans. Back when I was in 'Nam.....

No Christmas card for you this year.Bah, you don't want that thing, pay some talented individual to design and build a custom Brutale that makes that thing look cack
