View Full Version : Shrinking leathers

My leathers seem to be getting smaller, especially the pants which I don't wear much. I want to know what's heppening to the leather to make it shrink.

Is it the wet or the way they are hung up?

If others who are having the same problem with their leathers getting smaller, could you maybe help explain why?

Shit my leathers have done the same thing. I beleive it is the quiality of the leather. I go to a place the helps them to stretch Oh no that's not it i think they are supposed to help me shrink. NOT WORKING THOUGH

I can't fathom it out either. I had a custom made-to-measure single piece suit in 1986 that was an absolutely perfect fit. I gave it to my nephew in Christchurch a couple of years back, still in perfect condition, but it had shrunk so much that I could never wear it.

Do you like pies and cake?

The worst part is this shrinking is not only confined to leathers in my experience. I put it down to my state of mind, being happy and content really increases the rate of clothes shrinking.

I love pies and choc cake, but I don't see what's that got to do with the leather in my bike pants shrinking.

hmmmm, speaking of pies and cake, time to go to Eve's pantry (http://www.eves-pantry.co.nz/) for lunch :D

There is another contributing factor to leather shrinkage you know....something about as we get older :dodge:

I've got the other problem. My leathers are way too big for me now. Although I've only ever tried them on once to see if they fitted, which they did at the time. I've had a few sets of leathers in the past and I cannot say they shrank, however I used them all the time. Anyone need a one piece (2xl or 3xl, can't remember. Are a XL now, again), do ya a good deal, I'm 6'2"...

Whatever it is, it's contaigous! Could be some sort of viral infection because it gets into everything else in the wardrobe too

I reckon my dick has got smaller the older I get as well. Must be related to the leather cases you guys are experiencing. But then again I can still fit into my first bike jacket (circa 1986) and zip the bloody thing up as well!

I have the opposite problem, I'm shrinking and all my gear is getting bigger :crybaby:

I want to get breast implants to fill out the vacuous space in the front of my jackets.

Just stick on a coupla grapefruit halves with sellotape. You'll be right! Probably look and feel the same, too . . .

Mine haven't shrunk but they are really baggy in the crotch and both the elbow and knee joints have become very rigid. Also, like my wetsuit, the zipper is really hard to do up from the back.

I think I've had that problem too. It's hard to take a piss as well, right?
Don't worry about it, that affliction is completely reversible.

I went on the nine month weight gain plan, and now my leathers don't fit me either. So I sold my bike and now I don't have to try to fit into my gear.

Yes, I have a similar problem. BBQs seem to it make it worse. It could be some special chemical in the 31st sausage or the even the burger buns. It could even be the dessert cakes.

An amazing phenomenon!

It's a common, but rarely acknowledged side-effect of marriage. I'm twice the man she married, but I'm trying to get down to 1,1/2 times...

I got a phone call from a gorgeous ex-girlfriend of mine the other day.

We lost track of time, chatting about the wild, romantic nights we used to enjoy together.

I couldn't believe it when she asked if I'd be interested in meeting up and rekindling a little of that 'magic`.

“Wow!", I said, "I don't know if I could keep pace with you now! I'm a bit older and a bit balder than when you last saw me!"

She just giggled and said she was sure I'd rise to the challenge!!!

"Yeah" I said, "just so long as you don't mind a man with a waistline that's a few inches wider these days!"

She laughed and told me to stop being so silly!

She teased me saying that tubby bald men were cute!

"Anyway, I've put on a few pounds myself!" she giggled...................

So I told her to f#ck off and put the phone down.

I wear mine every day. It was taylor made in '89 - Have to concede it is "about 10 years too small" but still do it up no problem.

It could be a case of equally proportional shrinking to waistline expansion?
