Just bin snapped at 134K's cop took all me details said that I would get the ticket in the mail as it was to hot for him to write the ticket out and didn't want me to cook in the sun. How legal is that, I thought they have to write you a ticket and give it to you for an instant fine. Any one got any clues.

Totally legal ... you will receive it in the post ... and you will pay it or go to court ... but hey thats what happens when you go 134 .. oh that and the demerits .. shit happens!

Sounds to me like he was doing the both of you a favour mate! Standing around fully geared up, in the sun is not very pleasant. Yep, ticket in the mail soon..........start saving!

134kmh should be well up shit creek. Over the posted limit by 30kmh is loss of license territory.

No it is not. 40 kph over a permanent speed limit, or 50kph over a temporary speed limit will attract an automatic 28 day licence suspension. More than 50kph over a permanent limit will usually result in a speed dangerous charge , which will usually mean a disqualification.
Over the posted limit by 30kph is only fine and demerits.

That would have been useful to inject into the conversation I had with a pleasant lady HP officer last week.

Bad luck mate, Had a similar incident on way to work yesterday. 0545 on the motorway nothing in sight, and this caged cop tucked in the grass under an overbridge with his Star Wars laser cannon.:Playnice:
Claims I was at 129kph. was pleasant enough when he took my details but no ticket on the spot:banana:
Guess I got an early xmas present from the Ministry of Revenue Gatherers on the way. he reckons $230 and 35 demerits:spanking:

That sucks , I hate to think how many cars I see flying through road works, even when the guys are there working on the road. They should make it the same or lower than the permanent limit when those guys are out there

Offence
Exceeding speed limit by 10km/h = 10 demerits
Exceeding speed limit by 20km/h = 20 demerits
Exceeding speed limit by 21 - 30 km/h = 35 demerits
Exceeding speed limit by 31 - 35 km/h = 40 demerits
Exceeding speed limit by 36 km/h or more = 50 demerits
Mandatory suspension of driver licence
Your licence will be suspended on the spot if :
1. A police officer (but not a speed camera) detects you exceeding a permananently posted speed limit by more than 40 km/h or a temporary speed limit by more than 50km/h
Your licence will be suspended for 28 days and you will also have to face court-0imposed penalties for your offence.
Hope this helps
