Mate that sucks big time .. make sure you are fully informed of your options .. go to police & make sure you talk to a lawyer ...

Bugger,i am sure if you go to your bank and tell em the story they will sort out a OD for ya,shit happens and as they will get there bit i am sure they would be more than happy to sort it.The moral of this story is.....:doh:

You're not going to get it back. Had the same thing happen to me, when I was young and MUCH stupider. She'd also blown up my car the week before.

The cops weren't interested then and I doubt their attitude to domestics has changed in the intervening 20+ years. Attempts to recover the money were futile as it was a joint account. She was allowed to steal it because I signed a bit of paper letting her do that. If you were the sole account holder you've probably got a case. Otherwise not.

Take stuff you do not need to use right now to a pawnbroker. They like stuff like cameras, TV's, fishing rods, stereos and list goes on. They hold on to it for 3 months. And you go in before that and pay back the money and walk out with your stuff. You will not get what the gear is worth. Only a fraction. But as you will have to pay it back anyhow it does not matter.

Better then having no money.

If she stole your wallet the Police will be interested and you should speak to the bank. They may say you should have changed your EFTPOS pin but you should be able to sort out the credit cards because your signature was not on payments.

Check your Insurance too.

Already done. And I would do the repo thing if there was anything worth repo'n....
