:2thumbsup Hey Dudes and Dudess's,I'm off to Millers Flat for the Rodeo on Boxing day, and am getting to the campsite in Millers Flat from Saturday 22nd December through till 26th December.
Its only a tenner a night, and down the road from the pub, which I have heard is open right through. Tel number for the campsite is 03 446 6877.
Got a couple of bikey friends who may come along from Dunedin and Invercargill......so are there any other orphans, who want to come and party on in Millers Flat.:msn-wink:
I know that not every body has families and other halves, so those of us who are free agents why not all get together and barbeque some turkey, put on the party hats and pull a few crackers, play jenger or do whatever......
Me personally, am travelling by car, so I can take a bigger tent, decent blow up beds and the list goes on.:)
So whose up for it, could even do a Secret Santa present swop......infact sod it and taking my christmas tree to stick outside the tent.:niceone:
Us brits, just lurve Christmas........................:woohoo:
Let me be the first to wish all on KB a Very Merry Christmas......

The swimming pool is awesome. From memory - OK many years ago - really cold and so deep I couldn't dive to the bottom.

Well, CB & I 'Thunderbirded' our way to Millers Flat on Xmas night, tried to get hold of Woodybee but bad cell-phone coverage so TXTs didn't go through.
Next day we headed to the rodeo, met Wb there then while walking back to the 'bird to get CBs sunnie who should come along but Xknuts on the Custard Square, while yarning with him wouldn't ya know it - ANOTHER '66 Thunderbird Town Landau (wot their full name is) coloured red appears!!
After getting Wb to come over and join us Xknuts had to head away so CB, Wb, a KB lurker and I watched the rodeo between showers (which were actually not THAT bad)
Next day (yesterday) CB and I headed back to Riviera of the South via Moa Flat, Kelso, Tapanui, Waipahi and Clinton.
And that folks was my Christmas break.:crybaby:

So tell me SD - heres a very deep cultural question for you - is it considered appropriate to wear Harley Tassles whilst cruising in the T'bird????

AAAh the tassells are left at home cause the wind is not flapping inside the bird. Great views and plenty of room to stash the granny in the boot (but unfortunately she didn't make it!) CB

Hey Dudes and Dudess's,
What a laugh christmas was, soon as I got to the campsite, it was like a fly infestation of folks wanting to help me put the tent up...!!they're friendly those Dunedin types aren't they?
Got a bit tipsy on the Sat night, with a chinaman who was cycling round the south island, and 4 other dudes, in the kitchen.
Caught up with Xaria, and Nitey on Christmas Eve, and another mate was there, so we got stuck into Red Vino, that nasty Woodystock and cheese.
I got woken up by a crescendo of an orchestral bird song in the morning, the most amazing sound :gob:
It was sad to see the dudes leave Christmas Day, but then got inundadated by lunch offers, but only managed to share the puddings, x4, god straight to my arse no doubt:wacko:
Pissed down on Christmas Day, so took to my tent wrapped myself in my sleeping bag, balanced the red wine on a deckchair finished off chilli cheese and crackers, mouth was then on fire, thank god for the wine@!!:sweatdrop
and started Richard Bransons Book till I passed out.
Caught up with Scumdog and Crissy and a brief appearance by xknuts, so that was all fine and dandy.
The Rodeo was the most amazing thing to watch (a recommendation to go to here mates) Got up close and personal with one of the wild horses, when I went for a wander, it hesitently walked up to me blowing through its nostrils and stamping its hoove's, then put his nose right up next to my face, so I gave him a kiss on his muzzle, he blew in my face and then backed off before skipping round the paddock with the other horses, funny as. Wow is that horsey fore play?
Those wild horses are truly magnificent animals, their manes are wild, long and untammed, they're muscly critters, their jumpy, scatty, but allround wonderous to get up close to.
My mushy bit was with a horse called Jeronimo I found out, Yee Har....
Didnt manage to bag any cowboys, as the day went far to fast, I left about 5pm, so no gossip there:eek5:
So thats my christmas, and roll on NY Eve, I'm off to sell Bangers at Hawea's do, (met the publicans on the Hawea rally, so got roped into it, wot a great bunch of folk they are) Get to watch the Feelers, and Supergroove, and love them.
All that remains to be said, is have a safe and fun and totally mad Eve, and roll on Waikia eh?:grouphug::drinkup::clap::2thumbsup:niceone:
