yeah, something about flying past at 150ks and only going faster once they pass me makes me think they just want to race

They race everyone. It's not like they can tell the difference between a 250 and 1000. It's just the bigger bikes don't notice them trying to keep up :p

on a hyo, unless they know about bikes its REAL hard to pick out that its a 250. i have had bikers come up to be and asking how big it is only to be completely shocked that its a 250. i went on the coro loop yesterday with a whole bunch of late model sports bikes and it doesnt look out of place at all. its just a darn good looker of a 250 which is why you are getting raced i think

When it comes to giving cars lessons in power-to-weight ratios, I make a point of riding at the speed limit around anything less than R34s, RS4s, Porsches and Ferraris. Boy racers are simply not worth the petrol.

I tend to go quickly from the lights anyway as it's one of the few (legal) chances to stretch the bikes engine on my daily commute.
The other day I had a purple evo rev next to me. I though nothing of it and just kept idling. Then when the lights turned green it bolted off. Still managed to beat it to 100 despite the time lost from not gassing it and the pause from disbelief. Even so, didn't expect that.
I only have a 400 mind you.

Whenever I rock up next to a bike at the lights I'll rev it up, take the dragracing posture (Just out of fun, because I want to see a bike whick it on). To this day the only person to actually take me serious was Foobin - everyone else will just slowly pull off. Although one guy on a Blue R6 got the wheel up off the blocks, which was nice.
On another note, I saw a black/grey 2008 GT250R the other day and my first thought was "Fuck, that GSXR sounds a bit sickly". Those things are huge!

Maybe because you are on the GT250R? lol newbie car drivers think you are like 600cc 1000cc rider lol

Not just car drivers either.... Last night a quite newish rider on a VTR250 tryed to race me and Malcolm from Upper Hutt to Petone. I was his RG and Malcolm on my A, the guy was trying his hardest for a race and Malcolm creamed him on the A. I backed of cause the guy was riding like a dick. The guy obviously had no idea what he was trying to race but was trying his hardest!

Mmm, might have to ask a mate of mine who rides a VTR250 if he's been racing...
Sigh, the ol' RG. I miss her
Edit: Want to swap the VFR for the A100 sometime?

Hmmm, maybe.... We can talk..... To be honest though, you may have to convince me. I much prefer the 2 smokers - I prefer Malcolm's RG over his VFR when we do go out riding together.

Because Purple Fury is far more menacing than an NC21. However the NC30 does win over the 150
Don't tell Malcolm that or he'll mention the sprints... sigh...

Well to some people... I much prefer a "fun" bike than a "fast"bike! I'll let you ride the A one day and you''ll see what I mean!
How about those sprints eh?! You going out next week?...

I rode one in my basic handling skills course, great fun.
I'm going just to watch. I can't see my bike lacking a windscreen could do any better than last time and I'm saving up to buy tickets to see the A1GP. I'll put on it's new pipe though to show off :p

Ok, not living in NZ I haven't been in the situation myself, but I would guess that a lot of the time this is exactly what's happening - cagers are not as dumb as to think they have a chance, they just want a bit of entertainment.

That be me
I was braking for a stop sign in the wet. Wasn't braking hard or going fast to begin with, but the front still managed to wash out on the stop painted on the ground. So now I'm forever paranoid of paint on the ground now, yay...

Well some of the youngin's seem to think they're gonna win in their auto Honda civic, cause they've tripped it out with fake chrome wheel covers and a milo can exhaust :killingme
