Arrived On Friday Night , was a bit drizzily but was supposed to clear up.
Day 1:
Beauty of a day. Start point was in the middle of Kinlock Forest with a nice big gravel car park. 1 Main loop was 50km long, and a shorter 10km Novice/ Easy Loop. I went straight out for a fang on the main loop. They had setup the track well with 11 marshall/ support areas along the way and 3 with radios setup to report your breakdown or injuries back to base camp. Track was very loamy and soft but in very good condition, Sean Clarke had bulldozed most of it so the track was nice and wide in most places and was fairly smooth for most of the morning. Their was one part of the track which was a bit tight, and i was clutchin my poor gas gas through , but apart from that it was a good mix of open trails and bush bashing. I did one lap ,came back and did another and managed to throw my bike down a bank and rip off my handgaurd bolt of the bottom and stopped to ducttape/ cable tie it back together but that was my mistake doing a hair pin turn at high speed. 2 laps at 50km long each was enough for day one so back to the bees Neez for a few drinks and dinner.
Day 2:
Another good day that started a bit overcast, but eventually got better as the day went on. my body was achin after the first day of abuse but decided to do a 50km loop first up again. they had added a few new sections including a twisty steepish uphill which i bailed off and then stalled around the next corner but for most is was easy, but for me on my 2nd day I was fucked. A few new bush sections as well but still mostly the same as day 1.Track was still in great condition on day 2 , even though 400+ riders had been over it, Kept its shape really wel to be honest and made both days a really good blast.
Right now Im bloody sore, but it was one hell of a great ride. I will be back at the next one as that was one of the best fucken trail rides I have done for a long time. USE FILTER SKINS OR BRING A SPARE FILTER! good idea as it was dusty on the gravel road sections and a fair bit of the track.
Cheers
