Well I will be back in November to try and better my result. My morning run 274kph beat Shaun's first run on his CBR1000 but I see he cleaned me up later with 280. So room for improvement now I've got the same Micron pipe that he ran on the day.

Yea I'm tempted to put the standard gearing back on my bike to get it's missing 15km or so back on the top end. Still wouldn't be near the top of the list but I might go up 1/2 dozen places on the flying 1/4 and beat Mooch on his flash 748.

Still I got him on the standing 1/4 so I was happy with that.

You're the pale, emaciated seedy looking beggar that was hanging around the rally in Tokaanu aren't you? Those suckers at WMCC took pity on the bum that hangs around the shop every bloody day, and started paying you. Oh shit, I wasn't supposed to let it slip :shifty:

Besides, it was my first sprint, and I forgot to change into second!

Dave

PS: Your kwashiorkor is getting a little bad mate, I suggest you write to the UN and get them to send you some beans. (Knowing you, you'll trade them at the market, for a magic gixxerstalk)

In the standings I was the isty bitsy six hundy that beat the R1 too:2thumbsup

I must say that the lil old Honda beat a number of the big guns...Suzukis, Ducatis, Yamahas, BMWs.

I was fairly dissapointed with my flying result but was pleased with the standing, I still think I could shave another .2 of a second of as well.

Like I dream of owning a VD :shifty:

A gixxer IS alot like a magic bean stalk. You "climb" higher and higher, and it seems to get better as you do. But, when you reach the top, you realise there nothing but a big monster up there, and you wish to all hell that you were any place else :Punk: Like Yamahaland maybe :first:

Don't worry, I'm only taking the piss, I don't hate gixxers, even though they are ugly as hell  Shit, do they sell the ones they use for crash testing, or is it supposed to be like that?

That's not Lynda's monster you're referring to, is it?

Sounds like a plan but don't expect any riders fee. Will a buzz bar do.

No, 1/2 of all kiwis seem to say up and down wrong when they're talking about NZ. It's strange but it's just what seems to happen.

No he will be coming down from his home town b/c he is riding up there in a few weeks - the reason I know (don't worry I'm not stalking you Kirk!) is that my man may have been going to ride up with him.

Hi K14 - the next day is Sunday 28th November. Info on the CDD website given in my first posting on this thread.

I won't be there so you boys will be safe

I'm confused :thud:

Chch is in the south island, right? If you ride from chch to wgtn, aren't you riding up? As in up north, or, from south(bottom) to north (top).

Hell, ride up, down, sideways, just get here safely mate.

Count me in for the next round. My aim is to just be the quickest 'Storm out there. I'll be running standard gearing though so not sure how that'll work out against the guys who have already played with sprockets and can get up to speed quicker than me.

Any other Stormers or SV1000S riders want to take up the challenge?

Cool - SP-1 fastest twin on the day (thanks to trashy in the flying 1/4.)

could be convinced.. coming down for a 21st sometime then. how far is it into moordor (aka waiarapa). got standard gearing so should have mean top end, but the flatsides might make me look a bit ordinary on the sprints.

As I said in my post above. At the moment I am in christchurch, by the time the next sprints are on I will have ridden UP to New Plymouth (for the summer holidays), thus will have to ride DOWN to Wellington to do the sprints.

But who says that the South Pole is the bottom of the world?? It is a perception that is perpetuated by the people from the other side of the equator.

Was my first time at the sprints and according to the other FZ1 riders I have about another second to loose on the standing qtr and another 15km to gain on the flying, besides I have to beat that Paltry Mooch on the flying.

Lynda has another few ks to get to the magic 200 mark.

Yeah, but I'll have to wait till next year as (a) my 1000 may not be back on the road and (b) we're going to be up north that weekend so even if my 1000 was going I couldn't enter.

I might change my gearing and go for it next year.

Not blind - I was just dismissing the last run (which we didn't enter) by which time there was a 5km tail wind, so it doesn't count....

Well thats my story and Im sticking to it.

Last time we gathered at WMCC 8.30am for a group ride over and picked up others at Caltex Rimutaka. We can't rely on the "organiser" (aka Whitetrash) this time so if enough are keen to meet up first - post away.

Not suprised on the standing quarter , Kept on bogging the bike down due to the tall first gear and the fat rider !. Next upgrade to the bike will be for the rider to loose 20 kg's . Will have another go on the 28th , although I only improved by 1kmh on last year. Need a longer run up or a 853 engine kit :yeah:
