hey putting my vfr400 up for sale asi have lost interest in the project...is currently sitting at my parents place but no pics sorry but to be honest it isnt pretty anyway lol.
it's a project i did bought it in a bad way....took it apart cleaned all the carbys got the fork seals redone...new rear tyre....
painted frame engine etc...all just done with spraycans so not facy...does run but not rideable....
things that still need doing:
front brakes bled.....
rear brakes put back on and bled.
re vin. (is reg lapsed....)
hydrolic clutch needs bleeding...the piston for hydrolic clutch is mounted on sprocket cover....the sprocket cover mount bolts though...one is snapped off in crankcase..... theres in another where thread is striipped so will need a helicoil i think.
once that is fixed shes basically sorted
i have fairings for it ....3 sets of front...2 sets of tail fairings...none are painted and all need repair....
to be honest suits trackbike or parts.
$1000 o.n.o
sorry about crap pic it's only one i have...yes that me doing a stupid pose for a laugh lol
anyways pm me if your keen...or post any question here so i dont get asked the same q's 5 million times lol
cheers!
**disco dans dog not included** nor me....
**edit**: good strong engine by the way rode it when i first got it ran well....and as is i had it sitting for a month...hooked up a battery choke on...key on push vstart button...whir vrrom.....not even whir whir.....she fires right up ...

Being faster is just a bonus eh?! :p
It would be eligible for racing though.... hmmmm

Faster in a straight line maybe, even though my bike has done twice the k's and it didn't have the aid of a lower fairing at the time. I think my VFR would be a fair bit quicker around a track though :bleh:
That is true, could be a fun hack

Yes, that's it...... Those NC21's are a good bike but im sure its the RIDER that makes a difference around the track.
Skidmark, good luck with the sale. I would consider it if I wasnt going to be racing in Streetstock next year....

Nope, trying to save every penny to buy my own KR or RG. Malcolm will still be racing his RG as well! Hopefully I will actually find one for sale........!

just one of the bolts for the sprocket cover (while holds hydrolic clutch caliper) is snapped of in the hole in the crankcase that it goes into...bolt needs to be drilled out and hole retapped..../ helicoil put in.

Mate, doesn't even need that. Just drill a small hole and use a stud extractor, good as new :)

yeah easy out would do it...but sometimes they snap and if an easy out snaps it makes it damn hard to drill out as they are hardenered lol....easy out becomes a ...not so easy out....learned that the hard way. on a mini chopper once lol

Interested in the bike in my profile?
Its an NSR250 frame with a 600 single jammed up it.
Nutcase bike.
It's changed a wee bit since that photo, it now has a fibreglass monocouque(sp?) tailpiece, 2 extra braces, re-engineered exhaust mounts and UHMWPE crashbungs.
Needs new clutchplates. (goes but slips when hot)
Its a bitch to start (needs rollers)
Does big wheelies, current gearing too low for manfield but perfect for taupo short. Would probably cream a 400 round there given equal riders as it has far more instant pickup, in one of the higher gears I let of the throttle as the race was red flagged and It held close to a hundie kays at idle!
Lighter than my rg 150 :woohoo:
I have an NC21 aswell and could probably do with a pile of spares or trackbike. Mines a wee bit 2 tidy to race at the moment, altho that may change if i scratch it up

Good luck with the sale bud, my advice? Pull her to bits and sell each one on trademe. You would probably be able to get more money for it selling it as 'a bike'. Thats what I would do.

what am i sposed to say here have the motor for $200?
yeah i kinda need u know...money for my new bike...
$200 for a motor from a bike listed for $1000 is just silly. as i said it's them ost valuable part of the bike.
well if enough of you want bits i might consider parting it out....
finn man what u need?

Na bro keep going and sell the bike. I need parts for my rvf400 project.
Maybe fixing some of the easy things could help to sell the bike. I would make a price that is realistic for the parts and stick to them cos if you part it out then you might end up with heaps of parts that are hard to sell.
