Just bought a Suzuki GN250 with a missing side panel (RHS). Can't believe the price they want for a new one ($96 + Tape + Badge + Fixings etc) :angry2:
Does anyone have a secondhand one, red would be nice but I can paint, or any thoughts on an alternative????

There used to be a guy on trade me who did fibreglass ones for about $45 I think. not sure if he's still making them tho...

They are the rarest bit of a GN250, always fall off. Keep your eyes on Trademe.

I thought this would be the right place to post this.
Mine haven't fallen of but I have heard people talk about it so I got the last functioning part of my brain to think a little bit.
Heres what I did
-Drill a hole in one of the the pin thing on each cover, the ones that are closest to the front of the bike (hole just bigger than a nail).
-Bend nail in a vice as in pic 2.
-Put it all back together.
Bending the nail stops it falling through and I'm sure if someone wanted to rip the cover of they couldn't see the little nail.

complete with the 2 prongy thingos in metalHey Dave, how are you making those? I'm thinking of using a little bit of steel bundy tubing, and putting a ball flare on it (not a complete ball flare, only just flaring it enough to be held by the grommet), and then splitting the tube at the other end, and bending the two sides down, and then glassing those into my covers.
Here's a super leet mspaint pic of what I mean :D

I do my bodywork fittings a number of ways, some involve a lathe, some others use threaded rod/nuts etc & for others I use rubber molds.......
