Cheap(er) Plugs for TZ etc

Hi there - thought those of you who have to use the expensive spark plugs for racing purposes might like to know this:

I'm having trouble with my RGV250's NGK BR9ECM plugs being too long - the front wheel wears at the front plug when the forks are at full compression. The solution is to use TZ250 plugs which are NGK R184-95 etc. Most bikeshops in NZ want $120-$130 each for these!!! :buggerd:

However I found on www.sparkplugs.com you can get them for USD $22 each....saving heaps!

So if you race a TZ or need these short plugs there's a cheaper option for you.

Mate there is summat wrong with this conversation. Unless your steering head has been steepened I can see no way the wheel can bang into the front plug.

Forks are through the triple clamps only 1 cm, but also ride height is up at the back. When you make these changes you need to go to shorter plugs as on the RGV (90 degree L twin) the front cylinder is right where the front wheel is when fully compressed. The plug is anlged off out of the way but still not enough room if your front wheel is dead inline went at full compression. Even as stock standard on the RGV there's only about 3 cm clearance.

HRC set up drop forks 14mm on nsr and c'bam there goes the front plug cap.So i read the instructions and yea the state use the short plug kit.Ah the joy of racing.Same again they and the special caps cost about 200 bucks.Thanks for the info. :not:
