WOW!!!! That's quite a gifted effort...Any details as to how much were his alcohol's blood levels, if any?

Sorry, I dont have any details

The signwriting on the door suggests a Foresty company, so maybe something other than Alcohol was a factor ?

Or specifically something other than ethanol - methanol will make you go blind.

Fell asleep at the wheel would be my guess.
Thank god he/she didn't take-out anyone else.

OMG - how did they get into that position, and how did they get out of the cab?!

If they fell asleep at the wheel surely they would have woken up before they got that far behind the barrier... and how did they get over that culvert?!

I am thoroughly intrigued. If anyone knows the answer, please share!

If the ute was traveling at or near 100kph and they fell asleep. That distance would be very easy to cover. You have to factor in the reactions of the driver.Because they were asleep they wouldn't know what/where/how for seconds after the initial bump.
Its a 4x4 and at speed that culvert was just a pothole.

You'd still have to swerve right all the way across both lanes, over the shoulder, partly into the dish - THEN do a sharp correction to the left, miss the pylon cable, jump the culvert and then jam the bloody thing in between the power pole and the barrier.
And notice that none of the vineyard poles have been touched... That's precise driving if i ever saw it.

I'm impressed!

I like the way the rear of the deck/tray is sitting on top of the post for the armco, any chance it was dropped it this position ?

Look at the pics again, and reconsider that question..........glad I never met Mr "better reaaaaaallllly conseeeennnnnnnnnnntrrrrrrate on mu, mu. muuuuuuu drivvvvvvvvving "hick" . Well done that lamp post for stopping him really. Would have been a bit of speed involved to wedge yourelf so neatly against the pole..........if it were the Olymics and I was judging the ability to drive home...-2/10 for wedgies, but if I was judging parking..........10/10!!! for best place to park.....Gold medal effort!!!!!!!!

Kiwi version of top gear thrashing the hilux? What other type of abuse can we conjure up for the thing? I'm sure a bunch of bikers can think up some good ideas that would put the poms to shame... :devil2:

Im guessing he was driving the barrier, last time I drove a barrier I hit 2 cars, a cyclist and a nun. your average barrier has crap steering.

She'll be right mate! ;)

Nah, if you wanna test a Hilux take it up and over Gertrude Saddle - if it still drives then it's a miracle!
