You're picking race as the major defining aspect. It's the least important. It's just a visual clue that increasingly leads to incorrect conclusions.

Disagree, on three grounds.

One - I am not choosing race as the defining aspect, I'm saying it is a defining aspect.

Two - culture is defined in a number of ways... one of which I like - "The way we do things around here". In my family an aspect of that culture is how we dine. We each have our seat at the table - the same one each time. We never really workwed out who would sit there or go through a raionale at all - we simply sit where we sat last time for some reason - it's just the way we do things.

Likewise at work.

Groups of people (Let's pick Maori to be topical) have had hundreds of years in relative isolation. They historically had ways of doing things that were refined over hundreds of years but done so in relative isolation.

Consequently the Maori culture is very real, with race being a defining factor.

I'm a kiwi - and proud of it. It's part of who I am, part of my internal definition. While I'm not Maori I do identify with the Maori culture in part, espcially when overseas (I was in a hotel in North Amercia a while back and hear a Waiata start off at another table...! It blew me away and made me feel right at home... and very very proud to be associated with it).

Three - I'd say race is not just a visual clue. That's a hard one to argue given the mixing of races through intermarriage etc (esp. in the last 150 years or so - globally). I do accept your point at face value though.

There is no such thing as a good looking Finnish girl. They are like kiwi girls but with hair. Finland is the Ohio of Scandinavia.

I lived in Stockholm for 2 years and been to Finland a few times. Had 2 Swedish girlfriends and have since been back 5 times. By comparison, Finnish people are ugly and socialism has rooted Sweden.

Finland is still Scandinavia - and in Scandinavian you will find girls that on average look way hotter than anything you'll find just about anywhere (there are a few exceptions...). (One of the reasons I exported a girlfriend ;) )

Truth be told I haven't met that many people from Finland. The ones I have met have been rather special...

If you want to meet special people - go to Iceland. Some of their girls are very beautiful but they all seem to be extremely weird! Crazy like you wouldn't believe it...

I was born in Finland. I lived there for many years. Then I moved to Sweden and lived there for some years too. I recon, based on my first hand experience, that I am qualified to comment here:

I had Finnish G/F's
I had Swedish G/F's
I also had Danish and Norvegian g/f's.
(While living there, after that I expanded my horizons)

The only difference between them is the language. Truly! But as I speak all of the languages I found the ladies to be all the same: Beatiful, willing and accommodating. They love bikes, they love a man and they all cry when you leave.

To the ones who have a strange view of Finnish ladies I like to say: I found them the wildest. I also have no idea how you can judge them to be lesser in the looks department then the rest of the Scandinavian ladies. Perhaps you felt outside as they speak finnsh and could not understand you? Or perhaps you were influenced by the Swedish "We are better then the rest of the Scandinavia" attitude?

The ferry from Finland lands in Stockholm (Sweden). It is a 12 hour trip. There is a club that only Norwegians and Finns are allowed to join: The "Sink Sweden" Club. Their reasoning is is that if Sweden was sunk, then the ferry trip would become 24 hours of party and the Finns and Norvegians would not have to worry about the whinging Swedes...
