Having just returned home from the Burt Munro Rally (admittedly a grand distance of 10km) my enthusiasm for bikes has been rekindled.

However the cornucopia of manufacturers and models is astounding. That's the great thing about bikes - the possibility of having an individual machine different from many others. Whereas with cages they look more the same every year.

So.......I've always had a bit of a lust for Ducatis (and Laverdas) but know very little about them. For example, I've come across references to red keys and black keys, expensive and annoying maintenance schedules, loads of different models which look very similar - eg ST2, ST3, ST4, ST4S, etc etc.

Google is normally my friend but so far I haven't found a site which is easy to navigate and explains things Ducati. Plenty of sites certainly but.....

My question thus - is there anywhere on this forum where there is a list of useful sites for all the major brands of motorcycles?

ST2 - two valve air-cooled touring bike.
ST3 - three valve air-cooled touring bike with nice suspension.
ST4 - 916cc four valve water cooled touring bike.
ST4s - 996cc four valve water cooled touring bike with nice suspension.

Not the interweeb thingy but a newer invention, a book!

PS. All the ST's are water cooled.

Good point, yes, but modified from the aircooled ones. Let me take the piss without interrupting, OK? :girlfight:

Wikipedia is also quite helpful:

That's a reasonable starting point, but you can search WP for any aspect of Ducati and there will probably be a page for it.

Hang on chaps - Jim just said the ST2 and ST3 are aircooled. Now I'm confused. I understand that the ST3 is the only one now sold?

Alas.. ST3 production has now ceased as Ducati wanted to focus on their core products. RIP the ST.
