View Full Version : Are women dangerous at home?

Just working on an assignment and found some info which made me think about things....

ACC Facts and Statistics in 2005/06

Our homes are the most dangerous places of all: accidents at home killed over 300 people. 29,910 people were injured at home, with slips, trips and falls causing most injuries. Although men and women are injured in almost equal numbers, adult men are 70% more likely to be killed at home.

Im a little confused here...what does this say about women at home?!
We know how to cook our eggs.:devil2:

Over 1,100 people are killed in accidents each year, with more people killed in non-road accidents than on the roads.

I would have thought the roads would be the highest cause as they are used everyday in large volumes.

Men are far more likely to be 5m up a ladder, or using a power saw under the house near mains wiring, or any number of potentially fatal activities around the home, hence the higher rate of fatalities in their accidents.

Its hard to drown in the sink, and having the washing fall on you isnt usually fatal.

I think it depends how they are treated.

But surely giving the wife a bash would make up for the statistics? After all, it was an accident.

Women are safer - we have caution and commonsense! Well most of the time

And yes treating a women badly round home would make her dangerous. Watchout we bite amongst other things:spanking::argue:.

I'd say it's blokes doing DIY at home with power tools, up ladders, on roof's and such like that would be the cause of the 70% statistic. After all they didn't say murdered at home did they? Frying pan/rolling pin injuries perhaps for those being rotten to their Mrs?

True, still think giving 'em shoes was a mistake though, ifn they keep the floors clean they orta not need 'em.

- And I in no way support violence against women - so don't even bother trying to use this to flame me.

Jrandom's right...men are more likely to be using dangerous tools, and to believe they're born carpenters, roofers, allround wonderful doer uppers with magically fantastic skill born out of the ether...

When most of them wouldn't know how to use a hammer without instructions, which btw, we all know they don't read...:innocent:

From what I hear you need a lot of servicing, do you have one particular mechanic or is it whatever is nearest at the time.

Or perhaps you are the DIY sort of sheila?

I'm forever telling the missus not to leave things on the stairs of our house. One day she'll be coming down from the upper level carrying something slip on whatever she's left on the stairs and injure herself or worse. She doesn't get it though. Hopefully she won't learn by accident. Or maybe I'm just too anal as I work for a large company that really pushes the safety angle and we still have 30-60 injuries a month there.

Let me guess - she'll be carrying your bike down the stairs from the master bedroom where it sleeps, as Sir has decided that when he's finished his beer he wants to go for a motorcycle meander? :apint: You'll be a rich man when they finally get cloning sorted!

Don't worry. The labour gubbinment is working on banning houses and homes to prevent these dangerous activities.
The'll have us living back in the bush pretty soon...

According to the singer Joe Jackson, "all the real men are gay".
If you are referring to young boys as "real blokes", and not finding satisfaction, perhaps a different approach might be required?

I'd hate to think about wondering snakes....
It would depend on what the snake is wondering about.

Yeah.. never used to be like that.

Women dont spend enough time at home cooking and cleaning to learn how NOT to hurt themselves ironing my shirts and cooking my eggs.

Bring back the 50s !
