Hey all

well the landlord came the other day and hes coming to reinspect tommorrow...simply saying unless we have a big cleanup, our rent will go up to cover the cost of cleaners to come in each week.

now this was fine with me so out came the vacuum cleaner and cleaned up the kitchen and so on.

we have a couple here also....

she is serbian....well...shes just come home from work before reads the list of things that must be done from the landlord (most of which i have done today while everybody was at work)

she reads some of the things and goes oh f**k that i don't give a f**k

i said well i do and you could at least help out.....all this being said when shes just come home and is messing up the kitchen i just cleaned...

i said i don't expect you to do anything now as youve just got home but can you do something on the list..."oh fuck that man, it's not my problem"

i said it is your problem because you live here to.

"why do you even give a fuck, you're so stupid...i don't care so you shouldnt"

i said because i don't want our rent going up,

"your an idiot i don't care if you want the house clean do it all youself"

well i could goto the landlord....but as ive only been here 2-3 weeks and shes been here i think about a year, i don't want to rock the boat.

what can i do? , clean up and shut up, i don't wanna have a go at her because her bf will beat me to a pulp if i do.

i spose rant over, i'm really pissed off, back to cleaning!

Who has the lease?

When I lived with geek, the lease was under her name and if me and her had a problem it was they either do what we say or they are out. Usually just disputes about them not being clean. Rarely problems with paying rent.

When I had leased, same thing. My place, they are just renting a room. I had all sorts of problems and kicked out 2 people within 6 months (one had people over all day and all night and noisey as fuck and didnt shower, other was a chronic swearing alcholic that turned up the heater to full and then complained when I gave him the power bill)

If you don't have a position of power, ie you own the property or the lease is yours, you have no say so to speak. Just find another place. You moved in there with the expectation to pay X amount and that's what it was when you moved there. If the others are causing the rent to go up and you can't tell them to fuck up or fuck off then just have to find a new place I'm afraid.

Sad I know.. but some people are fuck heads when it's not their own house.

And one last thing - don't bother doing other peoples cleaning. If they wont do it, they never will. Always the case.

I reckon the best approach is to sit down and have a chat about it. Makes sure ALL tenants attend and decide how you are going to handle the matter as a flat. If you can't make it work out that way I'd suggest getting outta there ASAP. Having to live with people who drain you mentally is simply not worth it!

Best of luck with it. Idiot flatmates is a hassle that can have a severe impact on your ability to enjoy life!

Hey Mark, I'll bash the boy friend and we can team tag her.
You and Mark'd be to busy holding glands, I'm sure she'd get bored, go and find a bloke capable of the job.

Seriously though, sounds like a slovenly bitch, go see the landlord, tell him that the lease holders ( I assume from the way your post reads) aren't respecting his property and take over the lease yourself, get some respectfull flatmates, Bob's your uncle.

Also. For the record. I'm having a hard time coming to terms with you being the responsible one in a household Mark.

Ahhh, the joys of flating. Sweet memories.
FWIW SM, good on you for putting the effort in.
Sounds like you may want to start looking for another place. Living with grubs just wears you down.
And taking prospective shagging partners back to a dump sort of puts them out of the mood.

eat lots or curry and drink a box of lager, ring the landlord and tell him to come over its all clean, then leave a trail of poops from the filthy whores room to the rest of the house.

this will not solve your problem unless your new flat is better, but you get to drink a box of lager.

That is why we dont have flat mates!! Me and the bf live together in a huge 4 bedroom house alone, and we manage to keep it clean.

If i was in your shoes, i would leave, but i dont know your situation etc etc.

Stop being a pussy and evict the bitch. Tell her seeing she doesn't mind mess, you've relocated her stuff to the waste transfer station, and if she hurries she can bed down there before the gates shut for the night.

option a. She hardens up and does some cleaning.
option b. You harden up and pay someone to do the cleaning.
option c. You bitch out / harden up (what ever way you want to look at it) and say "fuck you - I'm leaving".

option d. Do nothing. Maybe Jesus will save you.

You will probably spend less time finding a flat and moving than you will cleaning.

Its a hard road finding the perfect flatmates :buggerd:

I take it your the boarder? Not on the tennancy? You pay her direct? So why do you care if the rent goes up. If she is the one legally liable (has the signed contract with the landlord, not you) she's the one who will have to take the responsibility.
We have the perfect flatemate, he fixes bikes, and makes just as much mess as the rest of us, its balanced harmony

Miracles do happen - a bloke cleaning - wow - I need a housebitch. Seriously if you haven't got the tenancy - get out - she sounds a right cow anyway. Interesting that she thinks everyone should think like her. Pay her one week short - say it's cleaning expenses. Backpackers are only $25 a nite? could be cheaper than regular rent!

Sounds like you've got shitty flatmates. Spending another $5 each a week for a cleaner might not be the worst idea either! Someone else takes care of it and you get to not live in filth. Everybody wins.
