9 entries in so far. 36 places left.

Dude, talk to me about classes. Is there any advantage in cross entering C2 and F3 on the same bike, or cant we do that with one bike?

No cross entering is allowed sorry. One bike per class.

The entry form was incorrect in this detail.

An F3 bike would have little more than a snowballs chance in hell of taking out the championship classes. :)

and free entry to the Rapa Rumble Rally.

That sounds so wrong to a non-native.

I'm seeking somewhere to crash (as in sleep, I'll try not to crash the bike).

Hi Guys and Girls

After doing the timings for the last couple of sprints, I am looking for someone to do the timing for this event so that I can enter. You'll be using the computer system that myself and Steve (Owner of Kitty O'Shea's) have put together and I'll run through everything with you before the day.

While here if anyone going over in a cage and has a windows laptop that they wouldn't mind using to run it on (as it would run faster than on my mac) please let me know. All it needs to have is microsoft access on it.

If you can help on either of these requests please let me know by PM.

Thanks everyone and look forward to seeing you all there.

Haven't been on a bike for bloody months so I've just said "fark it". If the car blows up pulling the bike trailer then that's what I pay the AA for. Still be good if someone could split the drive though.

Amazingly fast responses ladies and thank you for your PM's.

As I am going to have to come round and run through it with you and make sure it works on your machine. I am going to have to offer it first to who ever is closest to me (due to time and work). As neither of you have your real locations up can you let me know who that might be?

I do very much appreciate both your offers and hopefully we can work together on this as I don't want to upset either of you

right must get to bed

11 entries received so far, and I know there are at least another 10 in the pipeline.

Not mentioned before but there are some cool prizes up for grabs to the winner of each class. This includes championship and support classes.

Don't leave it until the day to enter - if a lot of people are planning on entering on the day, some may be disappointed if there are no available places.

Just wondering, if someone were to enter 2 bikes in different classes and won, would they win prizes for both?

I'd like to start a pre-emptive whip round to fix Marks bike after he attempts to employ this strategy.

On a serous note, I reckon the first two turns would be tapped on an SV, I dropped my bottle every time I tipped into 1 on the gixxer, but I maintain it can be done flat out, on a K2 at least. Had I been using Eds (GiXxer) bike as I half way organised a while back, I think I'd be well on the brakes to get round it.

Well after staunchly holding the line: "My bike is not there to provide parts to make your racebike go properly"

...I have buckled under self imposed pressure and told Sully he can (if need be) 'borrow some bits off my baby' to make his baby go properly:innocent:. He has paid and entered afterall...and his baby sounds so sick so if he is to deliver on all the smack talking (and not spend the two days sulking and feeling frustrated) he'll likely need to take me up on this offer.

Of course it is a limited time offer and it does come with a price (which I won't detail here). SO I figure if he gets any prize money it'll be at least half mine

Actually that goes for anyone if you need a bike for the event its a 94 cbr 600 its on shinko slicks I've got tyre warmers for it all it needs is gas, and all I need is it fixed if it's broke or bought if it's F...ed and oil and filter after weekend. No excuse now.....

That's a mighty offer for the young lass. Time to Harden The Fuck Up and ride now Hells.

I like your profile pic too, did you win that three way battle you appear to be having?

Im not to sure as Ive ridden neither bikes. What are the tyres on the FZR? Would they be more friendly to me than the slicks on the CBR? Which bike is less likely to quite so brutal if I say give it too much gas coming outta the corners or drop the clutch too fast etc?
No offence Drew but I think that the FZR would be worth less than the CBR so id probably be inclined to take that one out....
ALSO, i'd feel a bit uncomfortable taking peoples money and someone's bike so i'll see if I can get the $$ myself. Thanks though, you guy's rock! :niceone:

Stop doubting yourself, you could ride either. The CBR is gonna feel much nicer/faster but much less forgiving. The stuntah will let you get away with murder before it complains. It's wearing Contis between itself and the road, I have a Pirelli something here too, if I have done too many burnouts on the current rear I'll chuck it on the old girl.

Hey Drew; I'll go in the 'big boys' class if I can ride your bike and I'll just leave the RVF in the shed...

Oh yeah, I had this dream last night where I sold the DR-Z and got a 749. Pete McDonald sold it too me as well. My old GSXR was there at the dealer as well, it had 60000km on the clock and Jimbo thought that was hilarious.

I've been thinking about this dream all day and it's being driving me nuts because the GSXR would have been fun going up that hill.

If I had broadband and afew more clues I would paste a map on here.....

But if you Google Te Wharau Road, Gladstone, you should be sweet.

However - if you turn East at 'the square' in Carterton, follow that road to the end, turn left, then about 2km up the roads take a right, that will take you past the Gladstone pub, keep going to the next intersection, then turn left. Go through Gladstone past the school over a bridge, and tight left hander, tight right hander, the it's about 400m on the right.

Easy eh.

Or ring me 027 2311 873 if ya get lost.

One last question, if I get there after the start is there still a way to get to the spectator spots or will the racing go on non stop? I'll be leaving from Welli and I am awful when it comes to navigation so no clue when I can actually get there.

Anyone else leaving from wellington on sunday morning (on a bike) and doesn't mind a learner on a 250cc trying to keep up with them?

What a mint day. I was quite concerned about the gravelly bits...with good reason. I had a slide in the cliffhanger corner and ran it wide onto the last 100mm of road. I thought it was all over but thankfully it stayed on the tarmac.

Not everyone was so fortunate, but that's their story to tell not mine.

What goes on the hillclimb stays on the hillclimb...unless people want to divulge of course.

The record of 2.13s something or other is definitely going to be broken tomorrow. Jay did a 2.13 today, on only his third run on the full distance, and Drew, Warren Turner and Johnny Burkhart are not far behind.

I took 3 seconds of my PB so I'm stoked.

Roll on tomorrow.

I didn't use the SV today - just wanted to practice on the Repsol, then it should be a cakewalk tomorrow on the SV - although, Sully60 seems to be hauling arse - Skidda/00 is a couple of seconds behind him I think.

i had a GREAT FUCKING time on the hill yesterday

thanks to all the organisers.. i know how much work is needed !!

i turned up JUST as the bikes were lining up for the first sighting run... paid, got bike OKed
and the buell was rumbling!!!

took all my race gear.. but on the sighting runs i didn't have the time to change gloves/boots...
but as they were slow (cough..cough) runs i thought it ok..

my first run was scary.. gravel on a couple of the corners made me slow down far tooooo early, but i didn't really care as i made it to the top with a smile!.. time??... i think their battery run out in the timing gear i took so long.. at a guess about 3:30+

second run.. what was wrong?.. yep it was me, after the stressful day at the funeral i was tiered, and it Finlay hit me ... couldn't concentrate... bla.. bla.. bla.. or was it the fact that i had seen cowpoos????.. and talked to him:nono:... on that note, it was great to see the big Q there in his nice new car!! wow man that is .... eye catching!!! bet ya pull the chicks in that!!, just one thing.... is it on BOTH sides??
but back to the run, i gave it heaps, over hear a guy saying that you could hold it in top around the first corner... yer right as i backed off ( i bet EVER ONE could hear me back off 500m tooo soon hahahaha. but at least i tried!... threw the gravel, getting off the bike more as the corners flew by.. not as blurry as others.. but enough for this old man!..
waved with my leg to the boozie boys, who were hooting and yelling as each one of us flew past... that was great, made me think i was at the isle of man.....:headbang:.. arriving at the top i was thinking "man i am soooo sleepy"!
there was a van parked up the top.. i lay down in the back and went to sleep... next thing i know helen arrives, signalling that the last ones are very near and that we had to go back down...
time:.2:36..... yer right...it should have read 3:06... but hey thats what they had!... till i found out that they had a glitch ..bugger

3rd run: i took off with bugger all prep, the timing guy was chatting to me about how nice my bike was and how he would love to buy it for 20k...( yer , yer half of what it is worth i know..)when he suddenly said shit .5..4... zip up jacket GO! this time i held the throttle open even lifting the wheel in 3 on the change, the first corner was coming up fast i saw 120MILES on speedo as i changed into top... just in time to throttle off and snap open ( on the buell you really don't need to use the brakes much...) that was enough to slow the bike for the first 2 corners... deano had told me about a line he used threw the gravel, missed the first one but seamed to nail it on the second ( thanks deano) i did slow for them though... on the last corner, i held it open and just hung on, clicking it into top just before the finish... what time i did it in ?.. at that stage i didn't care... i knew where i could go faster ( every corner..lol) .. changed down too many gears at the "Cliff-hanger" corner and locked up the rear...a little sideways, but for some reason it didn't feel wrong!... the front was going where i wanted it and i think that helps a LOT..i just gave it till the rev limiter kicked in and changed up... at 7,000 rpm...
time:... 3:02...
yes i know i could have broken the 2 min, but i will save that for another day

as there were a couple of time delaying concerns, that was all we had, i didn't care, both riders were walking and talking...

and i had more than my money's worth... i learnt more about my bike, just how stable it is going around a corner while the front wheel was barely touching the ground and that my pipe is LOUD...

thanks again guys!!!:headbang:
