I am thinking about fitting a new exhaust to my CBR.
Does anybody have any experience with Neptune?

Superbly engineered kit.
I have one on my CBR600 and it sounds fantatstic. Nice and deep sub 8,000rpm, rising to a nice wail as the revs pile on.
Mark is also a Nice Bloke (tm) and very desrving of word of mouth and financial support.
Go for it.

Very nice cans they are, but from what I've seen they are as heavy as an origional, same size as origional and cost more than an imported can, the only thing I wasent impressd with with the cans on the bikes below (friends of mine) are the twin cans on the bussa, the end caps point out instead of straight... this can be easily sorted of course, and I have to say that they have the nicest sound possible for a 4cyl bike... very deep, build quality... excelant

i second that... nice kit, but very heavy. a mate put one on his GSXR400 with good results. look around, what about cycleworks out the hutt?? i got a set of cans from them a few years back and they were pretty sharp. but dont write off the trick stuff, i priced a new exhaust up for my bike and i can get a full race Arrow S/S exhaust with carbon rear muffler for just over $1000 retail.

Heavy? Compared to what? $1000 unobtanium exhausts?
The stock exhaust on my CBR weighed more than a small child (9kg). The Nepturne is about the weight of small child's leg (4.5kg), and cost me $449 + GST. I couldn't find anything under $500 at the time, and stumbled across the web site and bought the pipe about 3 days later.
As soon as I get the darn thing going again I will be back into playing tunes with it again.

OK i'll explain the weight thing.... maybe its not a general thing with these cans. I have held the stock bussa can and the Neptune, one after the other and they felt exactly the same weight to me (frigen heavy)..... as a general rule a after market can weighs less.
As for paying $449+ ($505) thats a good price, I can only asume that Neptune has loaded his prices since as he has become more popular.
The cans on the Busa cost over $1200 and the one on the 750 cost $700 and that was reduced by 10% (by memory) because they had not done one be for for the GSX750. Neptune also paid for the stock pipe/can to be mailed to and from them so as they could build a jig for that bike.

got one on mr ride.
sounds awesome and mark is a good guy to deal with.
nothing to much trouble for him.
mine cost me i think it was about 400 at the time and he didnt charge me to fit it.
i took my bike down to him and he had it sorted the next day he altered some of the pipe work on the bike as i wanted give the can more angle up towards the back and he done it sweet as.
awesome work.

We've got Neptunes on three of our four bikes. They look good and sound great. They are definitely lighter than the standard systems.
If you want to have a look, PM me - you're welcome to look/listen at/to our systems.

ANYTHING is lighter than the standard zorst on a ZRX1200R -- including the rest of the bike! The Neptune sounds just as nice as the Kerker I had on previously and the fixtures and fittings are vastly superior.
However, I have some corrosion under the lacquer on the end cap. Nothing too serious, just a bit unsightly.

Thanks for the offer, but this may be a little toooo tempting.
The better half loves Ducati's and I may then be looking at more than a muffler purchase :msn-wink:

Reading this little exchange between kendog and Lynda, I just had an epiphany.
(Excuse me while I go and clean up.....)
I just realised summat. :blank:
My wife was very impressed on Sunday when we saw a new GSX1400, and again when we saw a new VTR SP at the gas station in Ramarama, and she was VERY impressed when we walked through "the motorcycle precinct" in Melbourne.
She doesn't get to see many nice bikes "up close and personal".
Maybe I should take her to a few bike shops here - she might just see something she likes the look of
Let her buy the next bike, then I don't have to justify it, just ride it for her to pillion on. :2thumbsup

He'll get to you :)
I saw (and heard) a ZX-4 with a Neptune on it on Sunday and it sounded excellent. I reckon a ZXR will just send shivers down your spine when it's going for it.

"The round polished or brushed stainless steel muffler is $575.00 inc gst (bolt on)
The round black finish is $630.00 inc gst."
I've asked for a price on an oval one, in Black of course!

I have been quoted $706 including gst and fitting for a black oval.
I am really crossing my fingers for a Christmas bonus to pay for this :sweatdrop

I have a shiny stainless Neptune can with twin ports out on my NC30. Its the best thing I ever purchased for my bike :) A lot lighter than the factory can and it totally unleashes that great V4 sound :) (those with factory cans still on their nc30/35's should kick themselves as they don't know what they are missing)

I head oval was better, but I have no idea why.
Does anybody know what the difference is?

They look better IMO, and they increase ground clearance slightly.

Purchased Neptune exhaust and "Y" piece for my BMW Rockster just before Chrissy.Total package much lighter than original items. Nicely made, beautiful fit, however a higher state of polish on "Y" piece and inlet on exhaust would not have gone astray. Pipe looks a treat. Sound is not as deep as I would have liked although this may be due to the flat twin engine configuration of the BM. Having said that it does have a nice growl from very low (1500 rpm) revs. The extra power in low. mid and to a lesser extent high revs is worth the transition alone. The bike now chirps the rear tyre from takeoff whilst keeping the front down. It didnt do that before the exhaust went on. My only criticism is as previously mentioned, the state of polish including the clamps. The pipe itself and end piece are excellent though. I guess in this respect I am comparing to the Staintune product with wich every component comes highly polished. If Neptune addresses this it will enhance an already top product that comes with a more than competitive price tag and good customer service.

Damn - that is one nice looking bike. I had to look over it twice to be sure it was ACTUALLY a BMW. :)

So does Neptune do the pipeworks as well? Still have the patched-up Collecter on "Roxanne" and her cans rattle. It would be nice to replace the whole system (specially with nice shiney pipeworks). I had looked at Staintune, but they told me that they don't make the pipeworks for CBR1000FL's anymore.
