Sunday December 16th i feel would be a good day to have a Lunch meet up. Sort of a pre-xmas end of year feed and drink, either of the the two places is fine by me. Dont care how you get there, the will be no ride beforehand, but dont let that stop ya! But around midday at whatever pub is all i ask.

We have to be in Whangarei on the 15th and need to return on 16th to Tauranga so your choice of dates is perfect. Puhoi would be best for us as its on our way home, would love to get to Mangawhai again and thats still an option, but a bit out of our way and just makes for a very long journey home (as we may have slightly sore heads from deeds the night before

Well Mr Inverted-Mohawk...I do believe that the lot of us will be on our way up Norf that day so we may just have to come and partake in thee's wee pootle. :niceone:

Thanks Lava for sticking with me and Stirts on the way down from Whangarei, support like that means so much. And I most definitely enjoyed the little blast from Mangawhai back to the main road on the way down to Puhoi, G you is mean girl on that repsol, Blackbird2 brilliant and stealth as usual, and there was this KTM that flashed by as well. How many ruddy traffic cops do you have up there in the norf anyway? I lost count on the way back but it was at least one on the way back to SH1 (Hecla saved my bacon on that one), two, maybe three outside Wellsford, two at least on SH16, one in Kaucop, one on Peak Rd and one on Old North.
The buggers are out of control, you need to do something about them, it spoils a good ride having Hecla screaming in my ear all the time.
Apart from that a very pleasant afternoon, thanks to all concerned.

All bar two were mufti, my figures are taken from the detector alerts. Some of the muftis I identified, but some I couldn't spot. There was another mufti set Hecla shrieking in Dome valley on the way norf.
Why are they not all on booze bus duty. The cops should make detection of drink driving their number one priority. Especially on the weekends, during the day. It is irresponsible to focus booze bussing in the small hours of the morning. Because the innocent public are not on the roads. They are on the roads at the weekend and should be protected. (I am not usually on the roads in the small hours either, but that is of course irrelevant).
All on duty traffic officers (HP, STU etc) should be rostered to permanent booze bus dutes at the weekends. Booze bus check points should be set up in towns and cities and that is where the traffic cops should be. And any general duties staff who are not attending to crimes (and who have radars in their cars). I would totally support such an arrangement, purely in the interests of stamping out drink driving of course.

I reckon those detectors attract 'em. I didn't see a cop all day, Did the same run through the Dome, even more boring at 80ks, up to the pub, back down H16 to Kaukop, over to Silverdale and home via SH1.
Looked like a good turn out for the ride, must have been around thirty bikes there when I arrived. Couldn't stop for a chat unfortunately, the wife had other things planned for the afternoon.

Good day out - put more faces to names. Left a bit early as had a plane to catch (ours).
Came home via 16 and Peak Rd as you do. Came round a downhill right hander and there was a guy in leathers carrying a helmet standing on the roadside.
So I stopped (of course).
He had overcooked the corner on a Rocket 3, taken out a 5 wire fence and his bike was upside down, wedged behind a tree about 10 meters down a steep bank. He had come to rest beside the bike. The bank was steep enough that he had trouble climbing out.
He was unmarked and unhurt. He had already contacted friends who were arranging salvage.
There was nothing more I could do and so I left him to it after advising him to go and buy several lotto tickets. He was one very, very fortunate fellow and I think he realised that too.

Yo Maha man! what a fantastic day was had by all and a perfect way to break your cheery to a KBer meet. Good to see you riders from norfland too. Interesting trying to remember peoples psuedo-name and real name. It'll take a few more pints to suss it. Great day.
A suggestion for future rides: if we know the venue we're going to (i.e. food) perhaps we need to ring ahead a let the venue know we are coming and approximate numbers. This way the venue can possibly put on extra staff if need be (cut down on waiting for food) and I'm sure they will appreciate us and our business we bring even more, being the sensational role models that we all are.
looking forward to the next one. cheers.

Well Mark and Mom you have done it again, another excellent day out, good turn out, a few people I'd meet before good to catchup with yous, and a lot more I hadn't met, sorry peps for not introducing myself.
I arrived just as you lot were leaving is that good timing or what, anyhow decided to play TEC for a while, following them cruisers those 109's are awesome looking bikes,
Came home via 16 and Peak Rd as you do.
He was one very, very fortunate fellow and I think he realised that too.he was still there when Richard Mc F and I passed, so I turned back to just to check, as you said, he was one very lucky man.

BE FECKING CAREFUL ON WAYBY VALLEY ROAD Located between warkworth & wellsford, used to go to MANGAWHAI HEADS. There is UNMARKED ROAD REPAIRS WITH DEEP PEA-GRAVEL and we just had 3 out of 5 bikes bin on the one corner
No injuries, but bikes are pretty fucked for Christmas with lots of fairing damage.
So, to repeat, if you are going to Mangawhai heads, be fecking careful.

I don't think this will bother them unless they're going in a TARDIS or DeLorean.
But in all seriousness have you informed the council of this unmarked roadworks?

B. There is UNMARKED ROAD REPAIRS WITH DEEP PEA-GRAVEL and we just had 3 out of 5 bikes bin on the one corner
There is a precedent established for suing the relevant council for damages if you can prove that is the case.
Merv's mate did it.
