View Full Version : Jim2 Memorial Bikepark

I just looked out the window and at one end of the Jim2 Memorial Bikepark in Abel Smith St are 4 Suzukis.

Adding their CC ratings together still doesn't make a litre. Katana 400 + AX100 + FXR150 + RG150 = 800CC.

This must mean that Suzuki is the Greenest automotive manufacturer on the planet. They think of the children.

The Exceptionally Successful Creator of Bike Parks should now turn his attention to the needs of Boulcott and Grey Streets. I have just had an earful from a regular bike parker who has been twice ticketed for parking atop the footpath in recent weeks.

Of course. Have you not seen the Vitara's driving round with an Orca on the spare wheel cover and the words "Suzuki loves nature?"

'cept the AX100 and the RG150 probably poke out enough pollutants to kill and maim thousands of pensioners annually.

That's ok - Pensioners are expendable. The Children are our future!

Hey Jim, is that the carpark by the Car Clinic?..... With the Car Clinic RG parked in it?....

Yes. No. It's the Jim2 Memorial Bikepark.

There's also a GN250 in there. So that is the same cc rating as one Triumph Triple. 1050cc. If the GSXR250RR that normally parks there was there that would be 6 Suzukis, transporting 6 people for 1300cc worth of motive power. Don't often see 6 people in a 1300cc car.

The only other bike there is a CBR600. 6 Suzukis and 1 Honda on a normal day. I wonder if the Honda gets wedgies when no one is looking?

My Toyota Camry has a 3L V6 engine, carries 5 people and gets about 9km per litre.

Frankly, that's a lot more efficient than five motorcycles, unless you restrict the choice of bikes to machines that have trouble reaching the open-road speed limit.

My Zeal got about 21km per litre.

Edit: Yes, it's also more efficient than three bikes with two of them carrying pillions, particularly if you still require that all the bikes be able to handle the open road.

Five motorbikes are extremely likely to be carrying at least five people, though. Can you say the same about the average Toyota Camry?

I have just done a lap of the floor, smashing the unopened bags of chips. It's fun to see people's faces when they realise that there is only spud rubble in that bag labeled; "Onion & Balsamic Vinegar".
