Reeds needed for 250LC

Well... Im buggered if I can find me any aftermarket reeds for the missus 250LC anywere. Nothing in NZ (seems I got the last for my 350LC) I have been trying this site http://www.rg500.com/miva/merchant.m...ry_Code=BoyYam but it wont go through.

So who out ther can hook a man up with some new reeds for a 250LC? Boyesen 757 reeds would be good but at this point we will take anything.

yeah them.. have you delt with that site before? might take you up on that offer $84.18 nz. I still cant get it to work even after just emailing the place.

I'd run the genuswine originals unless the engine is heavily modified. I tried Boysens & Sudcos in my YVPS (ok not the same but. . . ) & on the dyno the stock steels were the winner. Annoying if you have spent the money.

I have some on the way now.
Dave last month my LC broke 2 pettels and they went into the cyl, the damage was minor but it could have been another rebuild. From what Im told the fibre type reeds turn to dust should they let go, I dont want to risk another engine rebuild if it can be avoided.

Yeah there is always the risk but is almost non existent on roadbikes.

If you are racing (obviously) or worse if the bike is tuned for higher revs than std (like my H100 which used an LC reedblock) you can see the reeds deteriorate with a brinneling effect where they touch the rubber. That's when you replace them.
