Anybody going for a ride over the Rimutakas NOTE they have been resealing the Kaitoke Hill and there is now a 50k speed restriction on but there is still alot of loose gravel around. There are also alot of idiots still doing >100k in their cages so....

The resealing is from just north of Te Marua through to about 200metres past the end of the passing lane.

Yes afraid so and I would say it will be through to mid next week as they are apparently coming down to Te Marua, it is supposed to be for around 10 days

Unfortunately I have to ride through all this at least twice a day as I happen to live up there anyway a bit of resealing isnt so bad its the idiots in the cages - I had a women in a Toyota Previa sitting right up my rear yesterday morning coming down the hill when it was still 30k no road markings and deep gravel drifts all over the road and the stupid women tried to pull and pass me on the sweeping corner by the lookout and then realised there was a road sweeper coming straight for her.

So move out of the way of her. Theres no rule about forming a queue and sticking to that order.

Note: [although you weren't saying this GW] the roadworks are nothing to fear. They are ten times better than they were on Weds... and that was fine too.

The extra weight must have contributed to your momentum cause you were pullling away.

Then I saw Simon behind me on the 07 Repsol, so I 'had' to fire it up and get a move on.

I'm not fat!

Nah, thought it was because I cut you off at that hairpin corner.

Roadworks are fine btw...just keep some distance behind the bikes/cars so you don't get covered in friggin stones. *tink tink tink*

Skelstar gets a sports bike and look what happens - turns into a right W.A.N.K er eh ? Carving up other bikes on the hill, I dunno. You've changed bro...:(

Now - you know boys when I was young and had more hair we used to race in Maori-overdrive too and then I realised my beloved Hondas have oil pressure fed to the gearbox bearings and thought mmmmm - maybe not such a good idea for any extended distance, which when I was in ChCh used to be the whole length of Dyers Pass Road or down from the top of Mt Pleasant..

We actually had them idling so that would be ok wouldn't it ? Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah idling should be fine, that's the same conclusion we came to way back then coz they're under no load but I reckon would still need the oil flowing to be safe. Just Skel had said keys-off so I thought you had dead engines..

So the demons have been exorcised then - it is now safe to buy another Honda.

It is now safe to buy another Honda.

I can live without the wedgies, thank you. I think that Mr Honda has a particularly boring offering at present, with nothing that turns my head or tempts me. And I don't want to have to go all the way to Masterton to buy one (whoops, I was supposed to have let that one go, now wasn't I...).
