This guy is a genius, although I dare say that there are many bikers who agree with his attitude (although probably not as many on KB).
ACC shouldn't pay for him - then let him ride his bike.

I wonder what other great ideas this guy has.
Seatbelts a drag?
Not eating lead 'annoying'?
I'll eat BSE beef if I want too?

I think he's talking about a push bike not a motorbike?

The bit I don't understand is the exchange - wiping some of the fines if he buys a helmet... WTF?

What about something like "Buy a helmet or you'll be in contempt of court and sorry arse will be chucked in jail"

Umm the police officers here might be able to inform us a bit better with regard to the fine for not wearing a cycle helmet but I suspect it is a push bike, I mean lets face why ruin a good story with all the facts but here is the give away

Boyce appeared before a bewildered Judge Bridget Mackintosh in Napier District Court yesterday.

"Mr Boyce, why would you not wear a cycle helmet?

Also one must remember that news organisations are very quick to group us together under the banner of motorcyclists not bikers, I think they reserve the word bikers for naughty cyclists.
