View Full Version : Calling all Burgman owners

As I am about to embark on Burgman ownership next week I have a question about the running in proceedure. It seems a bit ironic that after buying a 400 I will need to spend the first 1000km not going above 4000rpm. I have it on good authority that this transpires to about 50kph.
So, if you had your burger from new how did you run it in - exactly as per the manual, fairly close to the manuals instructions or did you just go for it?
Interested to hear your experiences.
Cheers
Mark

My new Burgman 400 'goes for it' - I saw 140 on the speedo today and it was still winding up. Handles as well as the Moto Guzzi I used to have. Makes the Vespa 200PX
I used up in Paihia for years seem like a "model T". I did over 30,000 Kms on the vespa without complaint, it never let me down. The 125 Suzuki Epicuro I purchased new broke down at about 1000km. Not serious but annoying
