My racebike is for sale.
Make is put as honda altho it is a mix! and Km unknown.
I have entered $2000 as a very rough price at the moment, I am open to other offers.
The picture here is outdated but its the only one I have at present, I can arange detailed picture depending on interest.
I understand there Is a limited market for this kind of machine, so I'm putting this ad up before I'm actually finnished getting it ready for sale.
So details are:
HONDA MC18 NSR250 frame, 17 inch front and rear wheels, the rear being off a Suzuki.
Has a 160 on the back and I cant remember the front size at the mo. They are Pirelli Sport deamon pro or somthing like that, Macdaddy stick aas anyway and they still have plenty left to go.
Frame has been modified to house a KAWASAKI KLR600 4stroke Single, with further braces added (not pictured) by me. The original job on this was VERY nice and has had plenty of thought put into it with the swingarm pivoting though the back of the gearbox and all!
The frame was cut and re-welded (not in that main spars) to do this but its all pretty tidy, and I also have a spare frame and swingarm that is untouched to open up the return 2 twostroke option however would have to negotiate on the inclusion of this in any deal because it would be a good base for a bucket!
The bike is stripped down to barebones race trim and just runs CDI with no battery. It has no kick or electric start and really needs to be started on rollers (included, with pit stand)
Because it is so stripped it weighs bugger all and is actually lighter than my rg150 Streetstock. With a bit efffort and carefull thought It could still be made even lighter.
Being an '88 (I think, pre '89 anyway) frame and mid eighties motor it is eligable for pre '89 postclassic junior aswell as fourmula 3 or clubmans.
Its currenty geared too short for manfiled but would be a real weapon around taupo short track.
Due to the nature of this bike it is really only suited to someone with access to a decent workshop or home tools and I've been stuck for working on it since I had to move out of my old flat that had a proper garage.
I have rebuilt the tailpiece to make it stronger and lighter and havn't painted it yet, the tank is also in primer fantasic at the moment after I reworked it to clear the throttle cable better. I don't expect to sell it like this and will probably have them done in the same green before completing any deal.
The Exhaust rattled of at our first test day so I made it stronger, It still broke So it is now rubber mounted, using commonly available generic rubber mounts.
There is lots of info I will pass on about what I've done and what I have planned to do to improve the bike. Will be sold as a running bike although it does need a few tweaks before it is prefect!
