so, firstly this is unrelated to any of my recent posts about brakes, so no this isn't my fault:innocent:

My little brother's '03 yz250f has got a really aggressive rear brake.

so aggressive in fact it's gotten to the point where he simply doesn't use it.

even the lightest touch and it will lock the rear wheel, stall the engine, and basically become a hazard.

why would this be? i thought air would make it weak, not super strong:wacko:

and while maybe getting a smaller bore master cylinder is a solution, i'm pretty sure the bike wasn't doing this 9 months ago

dad's suggestion was to oil the brakes - i'm sure you guys can do better

cheers

Bleed them. Check pad type and maybe replace them with organics.

Adjust the brake lever so that you have to rotate your foot further round to get to the point it locks.

This doesnt seem right...the back wheel shouldent lock up like that.
Check your caliper and pads,, as suggested
I have done a lot of enduro riding,,,,and there was nothing worse than locking up the back wheel going down a steep hill.
Youst to take the pads out.. and champher them...so there wasnt so much pad area on the disc....worked wonders.... gives the bike more feel when braking.
And no.. i wouldent oil the brakes
