Holy shit what I just saw I can hardly believe ! Just chillin on my balcony I hear sirens and a loud as sports bike japps for sure... zooms by 140kms plus in the 50 zone followed shortly by 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 no 9 cop cars screaming by including one silver mufti commodore... The bike didn't look like a 600 -thou I don't think he has much chance of getting away especially around this area... might do if he makes it to riverhead before they get his plate... but fark me that is way too quick for a 50 zone... Ill bet its a stolen bike. Wish I knew who it was.

I thought the cops called off chases above a certain speed fo the safety of innocent bystanders.
You been dropping acid again bro? Maybe he was only doing like 55?

Maybe Darwin will rid us of this idiot? As long as they only take out themselves it won't be such a bad outcome. Dickheads like this are just another reason that motorcyclists have difficulty gaining respect on the raod.
But you already knew that.

And if this dickhead doesn't kill himself or someone else,he will be on the thread on how cops are picking on born again or pissed riders lamenting the fact he got caught.
Still believe the deterent for so called boy racers is 1)if caught speeding and stop fine, maybe disqual.
If doing a runner and get caught by by car or bike and fine and disqual.
The thing these guys like is the vehicle, threatening them with loosing it won't work unless it is taken.
Have a friend of the wife who is being done for dic, whilst he had a work license, wasn't working,or in work truck, still has 9 mths from last disqual, the cops have taken car at time of offence, and although it's in his name and part of matrimonial property, may still loose it as it could be forfieted to crown. His wife aint to pleased, even said she has hinted if he gets jailed might not be there when he's let out, bloody expensive drink car worth $3500 or so,and she may not be able to tender for it if it is tendered, nice xmas present to be looking at.

Meeh I will certainly be reading the Herald tomorrow morning ... will make for a fine cupa discussion. But who will i discuss this with? I'm the only biker at work.

It's up the the cops discretion according to the Dominion some morning a while back. Makes sense considering there's so many variables to how unsafe a certain speed is. 50k over in a 50 zone is a lot worse than in a 100, especially when wet during end of school time.

Tell me this. What benefit could nine Police cars possibly serve in such a pursuit considering none of the cars were ahead of the bike i.e. all behind the bike?
I'm not gonna diss cause high speed chaces are about the only cool thing cops can do nowadays, but seriously, there is no need to have nine cars all getting their kicks trying to hunt down a biker.

I heard the chase too, sounded to be up near Northcross maybe. Didn't check the time but perhaps a bit later than 21:51... so maybe he stayed "in play" for a bit longer?
Hope they caught him before he did any serious damage to himself or anyone else... :nono:

Fair call, arent there rapes and robberies and murders these guys should be out dealing with? I remember back in the day the police would turn up in 5-10mins even if you got robbed, now if you get robbed you have to go down to the police station and wait in a line for an hour just to fill out a form saying you'd been robbed, they dont seem to give a fuck anymore.

He was probably a doughnut delivery guy in the wrong place at the wrong time. Would have had 20+ cars chasing if it was a topless woman riding.

Kinda wonder who gets the biggest kicks?
The guy doing the runner?
Or the mob of blueys chasing him?
Tank

I know the idea of waiting for the facts before cop bashing is a strange concept on KB
But .... we dont actually know what he had done to be chased.
Sure - he may have been doing 61 in a 50km area, or he may have just stabbed some guy when he was robbing a dairy.
They may have been chasing one of those robbers, rapist or murderers everyone is complaining that they dont chase.
Either way - the police had the information that we dont and selected to chase him.

Monday night is probably pretty dull for the cops. If there's a chase on everyone joins in - nothing better than an excuse to speed, you should know that :)
If I was a cop I'd consider that a considerable perk.
And as Tank said - he's running for a reason, so probably no reason to consider the biker a saint in this incident.

A nice juicy thread one way or the other. Silly biker for doing a runner or silly cops for giving chase. Either way it's bound to wind up in PD. :crybaby::crybaby:

Got a new crank for the GSXR and put it back together to go for a test ride last night, fuck it's fast. Was gonna stop by for a chat Raj but had to be back by 10pm otherwise i'd be outside of my licence rules and couldnt afford the extra $400 on top of the speeding ticket.

Yeah, he was probably on a stolen bike and had probably just robbed a fish and chip shop and I bet that the cops probably were having a quiet day and they probably all just joined in the chase because they were bored and and probably it was only because of them that he was speeding anyway and I bet that if they just stopped he wouldn't have been riding so dangerously and if he had a prang it would their fault and they were probably all trying to be the one to nab him so they could fill their quota and they probably don't really give a shit about bikers anyway and I bet that the guy will probably get away cos the cops are so incompetent but he is probably an arsehole for riding so stupidly and will probably give all us bikers a bad name which I bet we don't need and the cops probably just get a thrill out of chases when they probably don't need to when I bet they can just radio ahead and if they cause an accident themselves it will probably be a big cover-up and I bet that the pricks were just waiting for some innocent biker to go past so that they could nab him but he was probably riding over the limit but still safely because he has probably been riding for years and probably the speed limit in that area is stupid and meaningless because it is so straight and anyway he probably has been riding there for years and probably knows it really well and anyway the cops are all wankers that are just doing their job and the rider is a dangerous idiot who is not hurting anyone and should be left alone.
Probably I bet.

That 'WHITE POWER' suspension really seemed to help to be honest. Maybe if my suspension was Tuhoe I'd have been in some real trouble.

Not true. It appears the police have a new policy and now treat burglaries seriously. I hear there was a burgulary at Waiouru and 35 cops have been assigned to the case.
