Hey all well it's nearing the 1 month mark now for my life as a motorcyclist. It's been a scary rollercoaster of a month. First off to all new riders, don't skimp on gear. I didn't and it saved my skin twice! Well as a lot of you know my bike binned twice this month and had it's gas stolen too (Silly thieves). I am slowly building up confidence again in corners, learning to be one with the bike. Anyway I took the bike to the mechanic and he figured out why the rear tire was sliding out while leaning the bike. SILICON! The tire had a ring of silicon near the edge so basically when leant over the bike had no grip. "Mate...it's like riding on oil"....not good. Well he sprayed brake cleaner on it and managed to get most of it off..but looks like the rear will need a change soon too. Anyway to all noobs riders like me. Check your tires cos they keep you stuck to the road, if they go you go as i found out. Again Get good gear. A mate asked if I enjoy motorcycling after my falls...haha I love it mate, I wouldn't want to be on any other vehicle. I take my bike everywhere and other drivers are blinded by the size of my grin. Anyone able to recommend a good tire? Something quality but not outrageously priced that will last.
Ride safe out there guys during the crazy christmas season. Oh and thanks to all K'bkers who helped me out with advice and getting me back on the road after my spills, you guys and gals are awesome. :2thumbsup
