Holy. Crap.

How do I get one?! I thought the CBR 250 was discontinued?

It is sooo sexy. Please don't tell me that it is a fake :shit:

Looks like some third-world banana republic, based on the limestone outcrops and the marginal housing in the background.

A quick Google around the first world doesn't reveal a current model CBR250.

Those mountains look like the sugarloaf mountains in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Brazil's been known for resusticating discontinued models like the Yammie RD350 and Volkswagen Beetle, so perhaps Honda's done something similar?

yip the only very few low capacity bikes survive. gsx, bloody 2-smokes and a few others. But if you want to look at vast improvements check out the 2004 vfr400 :headbang:

why on earth isn't there a bigger market for 250s? don't the japanese have a 250-learner rule? there are hardly any new-ish reasonably priced 250s except for the *shudder* GN250.

this would do just nicely for my next bike!

Hmmm... So apart from the GSX250, what other 250 4's are there (new)?

It is pissing me off something awful at the abundance of large bikes, but us new bikers get left out in the rain... :(

I think if I were in the market for a new 250, I'd want summat as simple as possible - light, lithe, and easy to work on. None of this multi-cylinder, multivalve, multi-carb nonsense.

:whocares:

Would you suggest a nice naked bike, such as a Honda CB250 Hornet? :)
They look Niiiiiiiiice

The GSX250 is a parrallel twin, so on the new 250 4's thing there is nothing that i can think of.

yeh i think the newest bike (not new new but as close as you can get) are the cbr250's. But other than that i don't think a lot of new bikes arer brought in. If you just won lotto i suppose you could talk to a manufacturer about what the newest bike you could bring in would be. But you'll probably end up spending the same amount as a k1 or k2 600 hahahah :brick:

I wouldn't mind trying to make my own 250, just get some junk parts, maybe a MX 250 engine, probebly do a shit job of it but I'lld like to try.

As for that 400. HOLY CRAP thats awesome. How much do they retail? Maybe get that once I've got my full licence. Or get one, slap on some 250 stickers, and the cops wouldn't know the difference.

Havnt tried myself, but get some bloody good rubber, and take it in small steps..... if your steps are too big, your crashes will be too big.....

Any reccomendations for some good rubber? Also I won't be too gun-ho when I first get on the road. I also hope to race it at manfeild sometime so I'll keep the speed for the race track instead of the streets.

Anything that's not a sport tourer tyre   . But seriously i ran a gpr80 (dunlop)on the back and an mtr01 (pirelli)on the front all up fitted was about $470. They stuck like shit all the way to the edge of the front pity the rim doesn't stick to the road to well  . But i was really thrashing the zxr250 before i upgraded and buy thrashing i gon't mean giving it shit in a straight line it's all about learning to push it's balls off through any road hahaha. Plus on the 250 you'll be able to whip som of the igger bikes throught he twisties

Is a FZR 250 very sluggish by the way? Or is it got some good power?

FlyingDutchMan
4th November 2004, 14:43
If its anything like my cbr250 it won't get too sluggish until about 150km/h. You'll be able to drag most road cars off quite easily.
Heres the basic specs for the bike: http://www.motorbikes.be/en/Yamaha/1988/FZR%20250/

I'm running Pirelli mt75s on my fzr, seem to work well. My fzr has pretty good acceleration, my friend on his zxr accels a bit faster but my bike is running extremely rich at the moment. (100k's to 10 litre tank, you can hear it gurgle as the cylinders flood).

Hell yes, but with access to the school garage during study leave, I might be able to sort a thing or two.
