Hey there!

Would anyone be able to look at a bike for me in Wellington city? (Location to be confirmed) I don't know anyone down there who can have a look and my friend Pirate Jafa suggested I ask you friendly folks!

I'm just getting back into riding after I got hit by a car at an intersection on my virago which I had only owned for 7 hours.

So yeah if you can help let me know!!! I'll shout you lunch or something if we road trip down there to pick it up! :)

Welcome to KB.

What kinda bike are you looking at?

Did they write off the Virago?
How long ago was the accident?

I can 'look' at it for you but I make no claims about being a mechanic. I have my 6F so I can also test ride the bike if you like.
Things I will look for are;
oil leaks,
fork oil,
Smoking (while running - if it's smoking while not running there ARE problems!)
Rattly joints - head bearings, wheels, swingarm..
Condition of tyres, chain
general condition,
funny noises (obviously I'll LISTEN for these)

But I make no promises.... Maybe someone more qualified like Boyle Kawasaki could look at it - get the owner to take it there for a report...

Much like Colapop, I aint no mechanic but can spot a lemon. Depending on timeframe etc I might be able to have a jack. No reason why a few of us can't combine our experience and come up with an amateur assessment for you.

Available for looking as well if required. If you are looking to pick it up sometime, and riding it back oop North, that could be a good run up if you need some company - would have to be a weekend though.

Yes Dan, we are well aware of who you are. ;)

Hopefully the bike is mint, so we can do a roadtrip down to Welly and back!

Will have to wait and see.

What a buggar they wrote the Virago 250 off.......

You dont happen to know where the bike is sitting at the moment do you?
As parts for Virago's are hard to find........
Am looking out for a spare bike.... never know when parts are needed.

The bike ended up with Hamilton motorcycles... not sure what happened to it after that, I got paid out and that was that.

Thanks for the help everyone, Nasty is taking a look tomorrow morning! I'll be keen to ride with people on the way back, being my first time back on since the accident its a little daunting so having people with me would be cool. :)
