i have my scooter; and its lovely:scooter:
but
just wanted to check
when its idling, its not smoothly regulated - it sort of surging abit, just a wee bit.
is this usual with a brand new motor (only done 13km, damn the rain) or has it not been adjusted properly?
the manual is really crap - doesnt say anything about adjustments or even how to run in the engine.

i'm gonna have to learn a few things about motors me suspects.

how about taking it back to the shop?

It's fine if it's doing what I think it is... it'll be slightly revving higher and lower (not sure on bikes but I know on bigger industrial plant it's called "hunting").

Take it to the shop or find someone else with a similar scoot and have them start theirs and compare... all you need is an experienced ear to listen to it for 2 seconds - it'll be obvious if it's a fault or just operating normally.

Don't worry about it. The engine is new, possibly very tight. It will settle as you ride it. At the first service they will reset the idle speed.

Agreed, so no burn-outs and wheelies... :msn-wink:

i wanna go fast
but, given that i am the quintessential L plate rider (and i'm still too scared on my new wheels), i shall refrain and ride sensibly and demurely... for a little while anyway.

what is it with the urge to go fast on a scooter??? or is that just me
