True story. . .
Mix it up and spray it on after getting most of the crap off. Liquid dynamo does a great job on the Ali.

I use truck cleaner based products you can get them in differnt grades. I use a truck cleaner that i can use on my blue rims and other coloured parts. All i do is spray on wait 10 min and water blast off and its clean. Some cleaners may discolour anodising so be carefull! I then use a industrial silicone based product its similar to dash board polish but dosent attract dust as much as silicone. Same as car dealers use. spray on and leave for a day then wipe axcess of the pannels this stops all rubbers and from going hard and stops corrsion and gives it a show room shine every time. All so stops dirt from sticking to the alloy so easier to clean off after the next ride!
All Depends how fussy you are i probobly spend twice the time working on my bike then i do riding it!

Yea be careful with what you wash your bike with, a lot of my mates over wash their bikes and are constanly replacing swing arm and wheel bearings. Ever wonder why that ag100 in the shed that's never been washed in its life is on its first set of wheel bearings, but your much loved state of the art high perfomance $12,000 mx bike is on its tenth set???And it ain't cause no one bothered to change them......

Yeah I've heard you have to be careful where you point your water blaster. Can fuck bearings and seals.
Thanks for the tips guys. I'll give the Cold Power a go. I'm going all out with toothbrushes and what not.

I went for a ride a couple of weekends ago on a farm and rode through a substantial amount of cow patties..... man did the bike/garage/my clothes stink after that! And what a mission getting it off once it dried! It sticks to everything like glue.

yes, but the time and effort in maintaining them vs pressing them out and replacing them and replacing them every year or 2 is the question. to me i cant be arsed lubing and cleaning them all the time, its easier and cheaper to replace periodicly

Yes is hard to get the ali clean, epsecially when clay has been stuck to it, I will give the Cold Power / Dynamo thing a go though.
Water blasting a motorbike is bad news, it forces water and dirt into all the crevices bearings etc, plus how many ali radiators are damaged by water blasters.
I would only use a water blaster for under guards and tires and rims

ya any clothes washing detergent works good one of the only thing ive found to get clay off tyres

BUMPTASM!!
I gave the liquid Dynamo a go yesterday and it worked wonders. I didn't even have to use my water blaster. I just sprayed one side of the bike at a time with a shit load of Dynamo then hosed off.
It didn't get rid of the chain splatter on the swingarm and fender but other than that it's damn near spotless.
Thanks :wari:

Have tried 'MUC-OFF' cleaner and finish spray the last 2 washes.
Works good. Comes in a kit along with sponge/angled brush.
Really good at cleaning chain oil gunge around the sprockets, rear wheel etc.

i spray this stuff from repco called TUFF on then just hose it off, no blasting required. then a light coat of CRC on the motor and othr hard to get to areas helps stop the dirt from sticking.

Ok so im getting lazy ,cant be stuffed digging into my van for water blaster, and products , so the last few times i have washed the bikes just washed the worst off with hose then got a bucket of warm soapy water, car wash will do, and an old piece of towel, soaped it up all over, wash off with hose, then as any good car or bike cleaner knows you have to dry it really well with another old towel....and hey pressto.. nice clean shiney bikes :woohoo:

Well I have to eat my words and yes I am mouse enough to admit it. So goodbye catpoo brush I'm hangin you up in the back shed. Why? Well I tried the Dynamo in a spray bottle trick that Barty preaches whenever he gets the chance and I have to say it works!! I had nothing better to do today so I sprayed it all over Frosty's PW80 and my son's XR100 and wow! They are spotless and look like new! Simply spray on and hose off. Bloody Amazing! :niceone:

Motomuck = $40/5lt vs. Dynamo = $7/5lt (mixed) for the same job.
Your'e having a laugh right?!:nya:
I've tried both and I would rather spend my money on more rides or some performance parts for my bikes.
No water blasters anywhere near my bikes thank you very much.

Each to their own,
And my mix is a bit strong.
1ltr of Dynamo + 5ltr of Water, mixed well in a 6ltr garden sprayer.
Warehouse sell a 4.4 liter bottle they import for about $14~$15
I use about a liter per wash, which is a bit heavy handed.
@ around $1.70 a wash, and it does all the work, I care not.

Shit thats strong I have a Plessey pump weed sprayer 5L dedicated for this, the full mix does heaps of cleans.
I put 100ml - 150ml in 5L. Light blue colour mix. Especially if your using that 4x strength stuff?
If you need a little more penetration let it sit for 10 mins before you wash it off.
Haven't used a water blaster in 5 years as it pumps the dynamo past the bearing seals and degrades the grease.
Remember to take the filter out (for cleaning and re oiling) and put a filter plug in and do the inside of the airbox to.
I have found over the years that if you use to much it leaves a film on the bike.
More to the point on the discs etc and the brakes get very sad because of this. Clean discs off with thinners every now and then.
Then light spray with CRC, wrap a soaked oil rag around the fork stauntions to put an oil film on and oil chain :) DONE
Secondly because your using essentially a clothes cleaner hang your pressure suit, Knee guards and pants etc if they are to muddy for the washing machine on the fence and do them to :)

Yea I know, I "should" use less, but it's what I've always used, and it's always worked so well, so it's hard to change my ways.
Warehouse Link http://www.thewarehouse.co.nz/red/catalog/product/Dynamo-Laundry-Liquid-Regular-4.4Kg?SKU=1743927
To add to your secondly use.
Boots upside down going into the top of a road cone, spray with Dynamo mix, leave for ten, spray off with water.
Reckless
4th November 2014, 15:00
Yep good tip for the boots I lean mine upside down on the fence under the other stuff.
You sure that's real Dynamo (not cheap whorehouse knock off) cant find that colour bottle on their web site??
http://www.colgate.com.au/app/PDP/Dynamo/AU/HomePage.cvsp#/range/
I use the blue ones with the thick blue liquid in.
I have tested most of the household cleaners trying to find something cheaper
NOTHING works like dynamo!! (use it on the road bikes to).
Dunno whats in the shit but its really good.
That whorehouse stuff maybe why your having to use a litre in 5L????

Got shitty rain from Mokau to Piopio on the way home from Wanganui (without an h) towing the sidecar with the motorhome...everything covered in crap. Out with the dynamo in the garden sprayer and a rinse off with the hose. Results on the motorhome? Even cleaner than my quad after a muddy trailride...stoked. Looks like Dynamo is the answer to any vehicle clean-up :niceone:
