I agree with a lot of what you're saying however, people need to realise that their actions often directly affect the well being of others. I wish everyone would make a better effort of focusing on their own actions but sadly there's far too many who don't seem to care how their actions affect others. Therefore, I'll continue to worry about their actions.

What is there to gain in worrying if the other person isn't worrying? The fact is there are people like that in our world and nothing is ever going to change that. It is just a course of nature that some will make mistakes and pay for them, sometimes they'll bring an innocent party into the equation and they'll pay too.

Once you accept the fact that there has been, still are, and always will be people who make mistakes, including yourself, life will be a lot more peaceful.

Lots of good points here. I agree with most of them.

Over ten years of riding i find less joy in riding flat out everywhere. These days i tend to save it for nice roads, no traffic and sunny days and just pootle about otherwise.

not dying alone where no one will find you for a week cos that affects others aswell.

The best advice I ever got when I started my life riding bikes was...

1. Everyone in a car is out to kill you. Ride EXPECTING the very worst you can imagine.

2. Old men wearing hats and old ladies with a blue-rinse hairdo do NOT turn in the same direction as their indicators might suggest.

3. The most important one : it really doesn't matter if you're right or wrong --- if you're on a motorbike and you're in a crash, you'll come off second-best.
