Yo Dudes and Dudess's

I have just come back from Lake Hawea's first ever rally, and a big congratulations to them, it was faaaaaaaaaantasic:clap::niceone:

Left Queenstown bout 11ish and had a slow and lazy ride there, through the magnificent Crown Range, well twisty (santa, please could you give me the gift for bending it like Beckham round those corners:shit:) Twas fun though, even though a tad scary...............had a gorgeous long very cold Mac's Spring Tide at the Cadrona pub,, and got to Hawea by early afternoon.

I know I continually rave on about the scenery that this wonderful country has, but man it literally looks like the mountains have been drawn into the sky there, spectacular, (got rather pissed on Saturday and shouted to the mountains "Do you realise how beautiful you are............obviously got grabbed by the moment there!!

Got to the camp area and I literally put the bike on the side stand and then acted like a crazed nutcase trying to rip my leathers off, as I was seriously cooking in them.

Then I met the hostess, Bree who was in a bit of a panic, as it was her first rally there, her and her bloke used to do the March Hare a few years ago.

Anyway as it was so hot, decided to have a few cold one's before setting up the tent...........probably not a good idea, but wow, put the tent up and its the best its ever looked!! See Alcohol is just superb.

Friday night was spent hanging out at the pub and meeting John the Landlord and having a laugh with the staff......great bunch of people. and drinking a few more beers. Then sat as the sun set, watching them there mountains and sighing a lot.Doh!

Saturdays ride out went via the Crown but I only went as far as Cromwell, as the idea of blowing out Friday nights cobweb didn't work well!! and a furking wasp flew down my jacket and stung me just under my left tit, little bastard, but ended up beating my chest that the wasp looked like a small t shirt on me, when I stopped to examine the road kill which was now all over my stomach, little shit. (Prefer bee's, they only sting as a last resort and have the dignity to die afterwards, Wasps are indescriminate little wankers!!)

Anyway the numbers start to pile in, and Bree looked a little relieved (Told you not to panic mate eh?), and the Bike Show went on, so did the Tattoo show (decided not to get my arse out again!), and a band who were very loud, made Metallic sound like Country and Western rocked through the afternoon, they probably blew a few leaves off surrounding trees!!

Then about 930, Brothers Grim came on, fuck, they are good, the bald guy who lead guitars, just looks so much like the dude from Midnight Oil. the Band played in the pub and moved in and around the punters, and Midnight Oil clambered on a table and rocked the night away.

What a total laugh, and I love their music, we need to have these guys at more rallies please............................

So to sum up.

Well done Lake Hawea lure, it was fab fun, lots of regulars made the effort to support you, and as usual its brilliant fun to meet and greet old and new at these rallies.

Stunning setting, no wind and perfect weather. What more could a girl want. Perhaps a loaded Biker Boy Perhaps........please apply direct to woodybee:killingme

The organiser bree, reckoned there were about 80 bikes, there, and lot of them had pillions etc., so it was all good, loads of local bikes, and a dude from way up the West Coast, apparently some crowd were from Rotorura were there too.....but played pissed ping pong with a jug of beer (empty) for a bit and didnt meet them.

It was at the back of the pub, and not many tents as loads of folk decided to take the Motel up on their $25 a night bunk rooms.

I roughed it in a tent, but far out waking up in the tent Sat and Sun morning felt like I woke up in the centre of a volcano.....yuk:sweatdrop:sunny:

No bonfire, as the pub garden was neatly lit up anyway, so no need.

Looking forward to the next one, this rally really is going to be one of THE ones to go to mate, its going to be huge

They're local around here & get around to a few rallies- always great value & often play the pubs around woodend, Kaiapoi....
So if you're ever up this way check the paper out to see what pub they're in.

I reckon they are one of the best bands on the rally circuit. They did March Hare this year. Although "Bon Derierre " did pretty well @ Magpie Madness. I think thet're from CHCH too!

Went to a bikers meeting tonight. There was a bit of complaining going on about the fee set up!!
Apparently $25 did not get you much, add another $5 for a badge, pay accommodation @ the pub motels or Hawea Camp and get this, the locals got in to see "The Grim Brothers" for $10 only. Go figure!!:shit:

Argh...............thats hardly fair it was their first one, and as for paying for motels etc.,, well I camped, it was the softies who chose to rest their weary bones on a comfy bed.

me for one, loved looking up at the stars, whilst hanging out of my tent, in a comotosed staet, and watching shooting stars. If I could have paid the sky I could have !

Anyway, they are talking about have the rally at the other end of the field next time, which will be the best of both worlds, the locals will have to pay for rally same as us, and those who choose the easy beds can go do that too.

So give em a break, they made a tremendous effort for their first.

I for on, am glad I got their did a meet and greet with the organisers, and bought the Frist Hawea 07 badge.

Coi 4 now dudes and dudess's
