Rego glitch.

Went to re register one of my bikes at the Newmarket P.O today and they refused to because the WOF had expired. :angry:

Anyone heard of that rule before? :confused:


BTW: The bike was 20 days overdue re-registering and WOFing because it had been off the road getting the things needing doing to get the WOF.

NOw I have to ride it to the WOF place with neither WOF or Registration displayed. - Go figure.

Yep, that's how it works. A while ago I went to re-register bike, and they said `no WOF'. I said, bullshit, here I'll go and get the sticker off the bike. We ended up calling the WOF place and they said `oops, forgot to type it into the computer'. Had been riding around for 3, 4 months with no WOF. Decent fine for that, too.

In the UK, you can ride your bike legally to get an MOT. Over here, same story, or do you have to (legally) trailer it in? I've been riding my bike to get a WOF before and been shitting myself, `the one time I get stopped...'

Thanx - never knew that because I usually re-register when the renewals come in the post. I have six vehicles to do yearly but this bike is the only one where the WOF and the regos are on the same day.

What you could do is only rego it for 3 or 4 months this time which will create the offset you're used to. :yes:

Yes - you may ride/drive a vehicle for the purposes of obtaining a WOF. But if it's rego is out too, then better trailer it if you don't want to take the risk of being pinged.

I got caught by it too in the early days though (I think we may all have), so don't feel too bad! :D

Yes - you may ride/drive a vehicle for the purposes of obtaining a WOF. But if it's rego is out too, then better trailer it if you don't want to take the risk of being pinged.
If you're pinged, you have a certain number of days to get a rego and WOF before you have to pay the fine.

you can rego a trailor/caravan/boat trailor without a wof which seems a bit silly
