Have a 2007 DL1000 vstrom really pleased with it exsept what apears to be poor low speed fueling around 3-4000rpm.Thoght of having a power commander fitted and had heard that the secondary butterflys in the fuel in jectors that operate in the lower gears could be the problem. Anybody know a good mechanic who can sort this or advice.

A quick google shows: some people have had success in just removing the secondary butterfly's, others have put in TRE's, others both :)

All DL1000s are lumpy below 3000 rpm, and they like to spin freely. However some earlier ones, particularly the K5 model, had problems with the fuel mapping and were fixed under warranty. Usually it was just a simple fix of upping the low speed mixture by 5% via a yoshi box, but in some cases the EFI was replaced by Suzuki. I haven'y heard of this fault on the K6 or K7 models.

If the throttle bodies haven't been synched correctly, that can give the feeling of rough running also.

Have a look at http://www.stromtrooper.com/forums/ for more information.

Just at thought, the SV has an issue with the TPS setting, I assume the strom uses same kit. (search in www.sv-portal.com for that issue)
