Didn't take my camera. Bit difficult holding it still in a chopper on a 15 second exposure.

17th December 2007, 10:17
So did the cops just swan around dishing out 111kph tickets and do-nut bar hopping in-between??

Or was it a quiet night?

Is that what you do when you're out-n-about in your chopper, high above Central Otago?

Yeah, - that and a bit of trout fishin' an' rabbit shootin' when the boss can't see me...

Yeah, - that and a bit of trout fishin' an' rabbit shootin' when the boss can't see me...
You'd have to fly a bit lower for that though - do some "low-level traffic reconaissance" or "investigation of suspected marijuana plantations".

When we weren't attending armed hold ups, high speed get-aways, stabbings, aggravated burglaries, gang fights and failing to stop, we had a bit of time for general traffic duties. There was an incident with this old lady who didn't obey the 3 second rule when indicating... lowered the chopper to block her path, flicked on the 30000 watt spotlight and when it looked like she wasn't going to stop, we emptied the mag of a Bushmaster to disable her car and slapped her with a ticket. Bitch.

Ah, you blew it in the first couple of lines - no way are cops THAT busy, how can they be, they're too busy ignoring 'real crime' and dishing out tickets, -

- stick with the second story and chuck in a few 111kph tickets and they'll all believe ya no-sweat...

Afraid so. No time for donuts either for christ sake!

While the current system works very well, if I were the Minister of Police, I would invest in two choppers just for Auckland and have one up pretty much all the time during peak shifts. If they weren't flying, it would be fueled up and on stand by. If there are no delays getting a chopper to a scene, scumsuckers don't stand a chance.

Don't see how that works but if a chopper in the air reduces the bludgers on the benefit I'm all for it.

Storm
17th December 2007, 22:39
Yeah, but then they go off the benefit and into jail, and cost us even MORE fricken money
