I am going with a TOMCC mate, and then I will carry on to Glenorchy for KB'er KEN's function @ the Glenorchy Pub. I will probably take my tent or grab a cabin at the Glenorchy camp.
Are there any other Dunedin KB'ers coming to 1 or both events?

Hey Dudes and Dudess's
Well, I got there Friday evening bout 8pm, and so nice to have these light evenings......Trouble free ride there, apart from the fact that my speedo lead fell off, so I didn't know what speed I was doing. Anyway, met my mate Mike from Invers, at the Lumsden Pub, he fixed the lead and we set off at a cool 130kph.
Blinking eck, I reckon that I was going quicker than that prior to the pub, coz as per normal I was running late!!!
Friday night rocked at the pub, danced loads and caught up with Nighthawk, Zaria, Free to Be, XKNuts and Danny, and we danced the night away.
Contrary to popular opinion I reckon the band were fab, but unfortunately they couldnt do Guns and Roses, Sweet child of mine, but its okay as Kenny Rogers "The Gambler" is now the back up song.
The local:Police: decided to close the night down...you rotten old spoilsport:spudwhat:
Saturday, I awoke with the biggest axe in my head, fuck did I have a bad head or what:(
Did the poker run at a lovely time of 2pm in the afternoon, and got back I guess about 5ish. Again being too hungover to step across my own trusty stead I threw my leg over my mates bike and clung on all the way round, felt better by 4pm.
Had a lovely meal in my new mate Alan;s house bus, and then started the lets get really pissed chat and dance.
Me Danny, Glenys, and Heather, got absoutely chuffing knackered doing Zorba the Greek:eek5:
Best thing was though, the band did a message of my behalf which went somthing like this. "To all harley davidson riders.........why the fuck do you get up so early and wake us all up, stay up late and party and have a frigging lie in" then the played Kenny;s Gambler and the night was over.
Sunday took care of itself, and had a nap by the side of the road in Kingston before I fell off my bike:no:

I could show my face...
Five KB'ers (Xaria, Nighthawk, Free2b, Botb, xknuts) left Dunedin on Friday evening @ 6.45pm. While gassing up Xaria went ahead on the baby 250 VTR, and we played catch up. A most beautiful evenings ride, red sky horizon and a waning moon. We caught up to Xaria @ Clinton and our pace slowed thru Gore, Mandeville and Riversdale. This is the main highway to Lumsden and Q/town. Turning off @ Riversdale we struck side winds for approx 10kms, & then cleared as we approached Waikaia.
On arrival we found Woodybee's Triumph & camped nearby. Checked out the site facilities (Local domain with Rugby Club rooms with ladies showers, mens communal showers - sic, common room and catering facilities) which were all good.
Friday entertainment was @ the local tavern, 5 mins walk, and we could already hear the band in full swing as we wandered up the main street. Cribs, bach's, guest houses and the only motel were full of bikers prefering more stylish comfort.
The band (whose name I forgot)were playing under a veranda looking onto the garden bar and the place was rockin. We got asked to leave at 1.45am, so Allan Ryan (see photo) asked us to come to his bus parked outside the rego tent. A 60 footer, fully kitted out, where we drank Rum & cola's until 4am. As I crawled into my fartsac, the birds were already startng their dawn chorus, Oh the shame, LOL.:buggerd:
Next morning as the other KB'ers rode off to Gore and surrounding area, I signed in for the Poker run @ 2.00pm depart, knowing the 1st stop was Lumsden, where I left the group heading north to Q/town, and onward to the Glenorchy "Bugger the Rally" rally.

Left Invers 11 AM Saturday, struck some wind so took an alternative route from Gore via Wakaka to find an awesome biking road that came out at the Pyramid bridge.
Missed the bike run, and so against all odds went down to the river and relieved it of a nice 3lb trout from under the shade of the bridge (Sunday brekke, yum yum).
Waikaia weather was perfect with only a passing shower which i missed while having a meal at the pub, which i rated 10/10.
Talking to an organiser, there were no fires due to a fire ban and the band was playing inside to keep piece with residents and i felt this lost a bit of rally atmosphere.Yours truly stayed outside with many others for most of the evening, yaking and drinking until the "time to leave" message got through (5 AM).
Advertising of the rally was a bit sparse too, despite this word of mouth got a great turnout and i think a comfortable size rally, not too big.
Entertainement left some bikers bored making their own fun heckling in jest any passerbys of the grandstand. A mate took some local kids and their mum for a burn around the site on his sidechair, kids loved it, mum was a bit worried looking tho.
They had a great idea that other rallies could do as well using a 4 wheeler to scout the rally site selling beer and picking up mt's and rubbish which kept the site tidy.
Bike ran sweet with it's newly fitted head and carby so i was rapt, another great Kiwi rally and bleary eyed run home.
All up, a thumbs up, do support these rallys or end up with the unfortunate Glenorchy scenario.

Too right mate, I totally agree, and it infuriates me when I speak to other bikers at a rally and ask if they went to such and such a rally and they say, not much point it was on my doorstep...............................:eek5: surely the point of a rally is the ride there and back sure. (most of us however, normally have a dire ride home, due to canning it the night before:apint:) But for me, its all about the people you meet.........I have met so many cool and groovy people at these rallies, and love the rallies to bits.
Anyway, I cannot wait until the Hokitika Woodystock rally, by fuck that has to be up there with Nelson for a real good time.
Will see if I can grab the cat from the pub, plonk it on IDB's bike and again capture the moment of a Duc cat ti................Ha, showed that photo to hundreds last rally at Hoky.............................and the more I shoed it the more I thought it was funny.................much to IDB's horror.......
Anyway, Waikia organisers, any of you looking at this give yourselves a huge pat on the back, you even sorted the weather out for us.........
Ta very much.
Am on a very serious downer now, as I had such a good time......ho hum:crybaby: Precisely 10 days till I set off for Woodystock...............Yipppppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeee
Time for :woohoo::beer::wari::drinkup::shake::grouphug: and:drinknsin
Coi for now luveeeeee's Woodybee

Had a great weekend hassling the Gorons. Had an awesome ride down, except for the wind after Gore, a really hot weekend (except for more wind) and the only thing about the weather was the wind and a rain shower as we were cooking tea.
Met some great people (some of whom I might remember) listened to a great band and chilled out. It was really surprising to wake up on Sat morning by a mob of sheep instead of the normal Harley in the corner.
Really looking forwards to the Vincent now...

Pretty sure the band was called Rebelz, but no other details. Awesome band though. The big guy in the kilt has a party trick where he lifts the kilt in the song where he plays the bagpipe.
