Still running in my Tiger so took a trip round Coro today, dam fine bit a road that!
Took the scenic route via Clevedon, Kawakawa Bay, Kaiaua. Then headed up to Tapu, on the way meet couple cops doing Reg/wof checks at least he was on cars, made me pull off road and checked my licence to....... Sure he said 'great day for a ride, go hard' course i had ear plugs in so may have miss heard him:whistle:
Took Tapu-Coroglen road. Started out quite rough but meet the grader about 5k's in. Very smooth but had been well watered so a little slippery, good practice tho (being new to bike in all)
Then a quick blast up to the 309 and across to Coro town. Always threatening to rain but didn't.
Quick bite & X'mas shopping and back toward Thames, DAM FINE BIT OF ROAD!!
Quick pint in Kopu pub then back home via Kaiaua again.
Not a bad day riding at all, the only other bikes i saw were stopped at Kaiaua pub. Might do it all again tomorrow:yes:

Glad you had a good ride. The 309, and top of Coro tip are perfect Tiger haunts.
Be a great camping and gravel riding summer methinks.:sunny:

Just thought of something. What tyres did yours come with?
Is the speedo in kph? John (oldrider) bought his from Thunderbikes and is in mph.

Mich Anakee's, seem OK on gravel, great on road.
Mine is in mph, shop said was x USA, as i believe most of last batch were. Real pain really but getting used to it, should be good a converting mph/kph in a few months!!

That would of been a great ride..the tapu road is a bit hairy....309 is a lot better..good day for it.
Just reading in another forum in asia...where a biker stoped ...and a Tiger came out of the jungle and chased him..
and it wasnt a triumph

Point of order Mr Chairman.
Surely - and yes I know I am being anal here the title for the thread is inappropriate and incorrect! Leopards could be spotted in the coromandal, Lynx's and cheetahs could be spotted in the coromandal - but surely Tigers would be striped in the coramandal?
However inappropriate the name - its a lovely bit of road for a big adventure bike - Im' just whinging coz I jealous.:crybaby:
Holidays can't come too damn soon. Great to see you are enjoying your new bike!

Tiger only has the one button for trip meter is that the button you mean?
Pretty sure they wouldn't want to confuse(be sued!) the americans by giving them that option!
Will look up owners manual/try on bike asap. (don't think so tho)
Have thought of maybe buying another speedo in kph.

Congratulations on buying the (near) perfect bike! :niceone:
Mine had a slightly different version of the why and wherefore but I don't care about that part.
What interested me was the price and that was in NZ dollars and to suit my pocket!
Think you can tell by the headlights if it is British specification or American.
Slowly getting ours set up the way we want it.
Radiator guards on the way. (Stainless from Metisse)
Next set of tyres will be Pirelli Scorpions.
I like my Tiger better and better every time I ride it! (endorsed by Mrs O/rider now too) Cheers John.

I should have made my own rad and oil cooler guards too but saw a pic (of the ones I ordered) on another forum and they looked very bling.
Now you have given me a guilty conscience. Yours look good.
I hope mine look as good as I thought they would. (haven't received them yet!)
My Tiger is my only real vice these days, so what the hell.:headbang: Bling away I say. (quietly though, so her indoors can't hear me) :done: John.
