BIG motorcycles

December 15, 2007

GADGETVENUE.COM –– This huge monster cycle stands at 15 feet tall (maybe 2 and a bit times the height of the average person). What makes it cooler is that it’s fully ride-able (drivable?) as the rider sits in a cage behind the handlebars. It weighs 6,500 pounds and took 3 years to make with a price tag of about $300k in spare parts. It’s now time for drivers to fear the riders.

And here is BIGTOE which is 15'4" long and 5'7" - 7'6" tall (variable height). It weighs a whopping 3,600 lbs and has a Jaguar V12 engine which produces 300 HP. the tires are also huge; Firestone’s 18.4 - 34. In total the bike is 8 times larger than your average bike and has training wheels to keep it upright, though it's rumored that the training wheels retract once speed is gained.

Also in the bike you will find a 500W 4-speaker sound system with CD player. With that massive 300 HP V12 engine, it is still only capable of 62MPH although I bet that speed would be scary on a bike that size.
The bike was built by Tom Wilberg of Sweden. It took six years (about 3,000 man hours) to build at a cost of $80k.
