Well when i purchased the bike it was a colour that created alot of comments. Mainly aimed at me and my sexuality. Well it got to much for me and I did something about it. Its far from perfect but I think its better than pink. :scooter:

i still wonder why yamaha went for pink  Because real men don't have such fragile egos that they measure their masculinity by the colour of their ride.... :ar15:

I'd have a YZF750SP any day. Don't care if its pink.

I hope I get my fairing back from my mechanic, so I can have a go at respraying the old ones. Is there a set technique? Sand (dry then wet?), prime, paint x 3 layers?

Try this..
Wet with 400, prime, wet 600, paint x 3 or 4, wet 1200, paint x1, cut and polish.

I did...
plastic weld, wet 100/220, bog, wet 100/220/360, wet 400, prime, wet 600, paint x3, lowside, plastic weld, wet 100/220, bog, wet 100/220......

the first way is faster, and less painfull.

Probably not a good idea to get water anywhere near bog!...only just safe after it's primed... it soaks in and bulges after time... and will cause you paint to flake off as it "sweats"

Yes, but unfortunately the new bike budget is looking very thin at the moment...

I’m hopefully getting a FZR250 2KR tomorrow. I'll see if I can give it a matt black finish all over. Ideally I would get it professionally done but I haven't got the funds so I'm going to try and do it myself.

Actually, have you all got any tips on what paint I should use and how to go about it?

PM me... use acrylic and 90% of the finish is in prep... matt black will f*ck up in no time tho
