Aftermarket exhaust for a Honda VFR800 07

Hi all, I'm new to this site, My name is Brend and I have a current a 2007 Honda VFR800, and i'm really keen to get some new cans for it.
I know it's all down to preference, but some cans are better for sound and performance than others for certain bikes. So I guess my question to anyone who owns or has owned a VFR with aftermarket cans as to which brand, would be a good choice? At this point in time, I'm thinking of 2brothers, with Power commander and airfilter. Thanks:scooter:

When I had the Hornet I used to frequent the 919 site. Folk thereabout did not like TBR cans at all. Leading members felt there were serious quality issues with TBR products.

As i recall, the recommendation was to go with brands that do R&D. Sato Racing were the annointed choice for the Hornet.

Some of this must have rubbed off on me. I bought Arrows.

As NinjaNana suggested - Im after a stock set of pipes if you want to sell yours.

As for getting a review on pipes have a look HERE (http://vfrworld.com/forums/modifications/3310-exhaust-sound-clips.html). As Swoop said, Vfrworld has a thread dedicated to what particular pipes sound like.....from what Ive read Leo Vince is the best sounding pipe.

how does this work ?? as there seems to be plenty of oomph coming out of both mine, surely if one was cosmetic this would not happen ?? or am i wrong??

I would have thought anything Yoshi or Arrow or Remus would have been up there. Especially for a full kit.

Ring Greg Boyd at Boyd Honda in Hamilton and ask him for advice.

I kinda agree with you re the 2 brothers cans, although, they look the part.
Remus or Leo Vince is my next choice.

Has anyone got any views on carbon pipes? I was told that they don't handle the heavier pounding from a V-twin so didn't get one for my SV at the time, but how do they hold up to the V4's?

C/F mufflers are fine on the VFR, and may actually be a little cooler (under your bottom, that is) than say Staintunes, or other metal-bodied mufflers. As Qkchk said, the TwoBros for the VFR800 have a dummy pipe on one side, just for balance.
Look, if you want some more info, go to VFRDiscussion (http://www.vfrdiscussion.com) - there's LOTS of info there about aftermarket mufflers for VFRs, including soundbites. Popular ones for the 800 Vtec are the Leo Vince, Laser, and Staintune, but there are also people who have put Termignonis on, or ex-Ducati mufflers modded to fit.
You also have the option here of getting some NZ-made Neptunes (http://www.neptunemufflers.co.nz/) made to your specification, something I'd consider if I was in your position.
