Compliance like it has a WOF etc now and does it need the screen that it had factory on it all the time to get the next WOF? Nup, just lights and indicators etc and no dangerous protrusions.

Conpliance like it's de-registered and you need to have it re-vinned and an engineers cert? I'd guess the fairing is the least of your problems as it would need to be emissions compliant etc too but doubt this is what you mean.

Whats the whole story Duck-Man?

oh and why? Isn't the distinctive front what makes the "Kat" look, love it or hate it?

The 650 Katana didn't have a fairing. Problem solved.

I think you find thats a universal aftermarket fairing.

The 1983 model came out with the bikini fairing. The answer to your question though, is - no, you won't need the fairing for compliance. If necessary take along the picture that Jim has provided.

You could buy the Katana 650 from a dealer with those fitted. Out of the factory they were naked.

That would have been one bad-ass street machine in 1983!
