XL250S year??

I am in the process of restoring a XL250S and would like to put is on the road. i think it is a 1979 or 1980 model. Does anyone know how to tell? Cheers

Check the rims, on the small writing there will be a date code that is when the rims were made. They will make them largely at the same time as the bike Kanban 'Just in time' policy.
