Some of you will have read my earlier post regarding fear of the BMW F650 I have bought.
I got over the fear and looked forward to its delivery last Thurs. Due to illness (can't help that!) it didn't arrive till Sat. evening.

Played round with it all morning, and feeling totally comfortable with it (GREAT!) Friend arrives out on her bike as planned to go for a bit of a nana-ride together.

BUT the ignition switch has inexplicably locked the key out, so can't start it *sigh* Bike shop arrives Sunday night to pick it up (Thank you MCR - great service)

Duly fixed, it came out last night in the rain. I woke at 5 this morning SO looking forward to riding it. Fumble my way into all my new gear, very excited- my maiden voyage....
Throw a confident leg over, turn it on, and.... the bike is completely dead. :( Nada, zilch, nothing. (I was doing everything right, and the kill switch was not on!)
MCR on their way out now to get it (50 kms - again) and I feel like I'm all dressed for the party with no place to go.
Disappointing, really disappointing. Can't say enough about the level of service, but after having to work through what I did to feel great about the bike......it's a mjor anti-climax.

I don't specially believe in fate......but there is a little niggle in the back of my mind......

Which of course, I will totally ignore and STILL look forward to riding it.

Thats a bit of a shame really.:( Bit like getting battery powered toys at xmas, and no batteries:crybaby:.
might pay to ask the shop to give it an extra check over, and a bit of a ride, just to make sure all is good.
I'm sure that they would prefer not to have to keep traveling out to your place for little faults.
Waiting for the first ride will make it all the more enjoyable.

They have just collected it - I have every confidence they will give it a really thorough going over this time. It has to be something draining the battery, as they rode it out last night
Anticipation can only make it better, as you say.....

Bike needed a new battery, that was all. They delivered it back within a couple of hours, and I have ridden it for miles.
Over the Pig Route, back to Palmy, Trotters Gorge, Moeraki, Shag Point etc.

It was so neat I am bouncing off the walls!! What on earth was I worried about? *happy sigh*
